  3. ...Uh. What?

I think that you are taking it too far Iz!

I'm not saying that what Atlantis says is true, but it's much easier to defend your point of view if you only say that there are no evidence for her to support what she claims!

Yes there's no evidence, but a lack of evidence is no proof and we know that from forensic science. Not everyone gets sentenced for what they did, not everyone gets what they deserve. A lot of times criminals are getting released because of lack of evidence, or no evidence. Everyone knows that person is guilty, but they can't prove it. And that's science Iz! (I know that this is not a good example)

Lack of evidence is not a proof that something does not exists, and a lot of times finding "evidence" is not a proof of existence.

Atlantis meant that seeing those creatures is all the evidence that she has and she wanted to share that with other people, or even find someone with similar experience.

You are turning every thread here into a debate war, and yes I think that you should definitely be in a debate team of the college you pick to attend, cause with your brain you can pick what ever college that you want, but you have to learn how to respect your opponents in a debate Iz ;)

  4. *sprints up, does a slow-motion dive towards sign-up* NOOOOOO!!!!!!

*confirms, then hits ground with a thud* whew, that was close.

    I'm in :D

Could you be more excited?!

Too bad that IDNE can't play! :(

PM could you add one more role?? An indy one??

  5. Good way would be to implement "thumbs up"/"thumbs down" for each post. So that members could rate replies of other members - if they were helpful, insightful etc. And take those points into account when rating members.

    What, like on YouTube??

I don't know... I don't like being judged (I hate the profile page rating as well). For the riddles is OK but it's not realistic, it would be better if we could see who rated that riddle and with how many stars.

This is a place of refuge for me, where I log in to relax. It wouldn't be relaxing for me if I'd log in and see a thumbs down at my post only because someone does not agree with what I have to say.

How about cutting the ranking out all together! :) I hate labels anyway

  6. Loophole?? Any chance you will tell me my fuzzy friend??

    Second warning!!!

    :offtopic:

EDIT: I'm just trying to be intimidating so you wouldn't continue... rookie can smell spam and you know it! So stop with the off topickness... I'm whispering btw...

  7. Eh.... How about the treasure hunt with clue in riddle form. Which way to go?

Treasure hunts go where rookie put them regardless whether they are in a riddle form or not!

My treasure hunts are a mixture of things (and so are yours) so it would be hard to nitpick through every and each one of them so rookie put them in the New logic puzzles math section :)

  8. lol I had tried arranging "John Dou" as a possible anagram for a clue.

Hehe... nah... this one was simple ;)

And I was trying to figure out why they were doing an autopsy to determine the cause of death when the guy had a pitchfork sticking out of his back

How did the Easter Bunny get the headline?

Sounds more like the work of a cute psycho bunny...

Carrot dude! It's the journalist's idea! (Andromeda is the name :D)

  9. ...if they did not have navals people would think THAT was weird...

Well I think that this is weird since they weren't born... and wouldn't pictures of Adam and Eve without their navels prove even further that they were made by God, you know like an additional proof.

People would look at that painting and think "Oh yeah, they don't even have navels, how clever of the artist who painted them to leave their navels out since they clearly shouldn't have them!"

So you are saying that you should give people what the think that they should see and tell them what they should hear and not the truth because the truth is weird??

  10. Was poor John dead?

Also, can you define "quite some time"? Or is it insignificant?

    :)

Well quite some time is significant and poor John was dead for quite some time.

  11. Santa came to the empty house on Christmas Eve and slipped while going down the chimney. He broke his neck at the bottom. The reindeer tried to save him but they had no way of getting down the chimney to retrieve Santa. Using a trick similar to a child putting a chewed piece of gum at the end of a stick to retrieve coins in the gutter, they attached the garden fork to a rope, shot it down the chimney and into Santa's back. Once they hauled him back up the chimney, they quickly realized that he was too far gone to save. They also realized that their trip back to the North Pole would be a lot easier if they left the fat old slave driver in the yard. Not wanting to cause alarm in the neighborhood, they stood him up and built a nice snowman around the body (they even had coal for the members of the naughty list and carrots from the feedbag.) Santa's body stood there undetected until the snow melted and the old couple noticed him on their return.

    :)

Hahaha... that's exactly how it would have happened on April fools day :P Nice scenario! :D

Perhaps Santa Claus slipped off the roof and landed on a snowman holding a garden fork.

    Actually...

It wasn't Santa Clause but the burglar that slipped of the roof and landed on the garden fork that was placed there as the Snowman's arm, by the kids from the neighborhood. The snow melted and the only remains of the Snowman were the garden fork, some coal fragments and the carrot.

Nice work guys :) I couldn't fool anyone with the Easter Bunny! :P

  12. Hm... this has nothing to do with craziness and delusions, but I was thinking (and I don't know where to put this and since this topic is active and is about mythical creatures I decided to put this here).

My question is - what is wrong with this picture??

    adam_280x390_459191a.jpg

Both Adam and Eve have navels??

If God created them they shouldn't have navels, right?

Navels indicate that they were born. And it's not just this picture, but all the pictures that I have seen show Adam and Eve with a navel!

    Thoughts?

  13. caucasion = white aka snow

    mid-thirties = temperature

the body was just melted slush with a pitchfork stuck in it and carrots and coal lying next to it

Nice on, but the body was a real dead human and that was a newspaper story, no word play

    ;)
  14. Ashamedly, I follow pretty much follow all sports. Please don't hold it against me ^_^ . I was up to 3 yesterday morning watching the Masters.

Edit: I realise this was totally off-topic. Apologies. Maybe we should just leave it all until PM says RT has confirmed or been replaced. :)

    :offtopic:

Don't make me remind you again...

EDIT: I see that you realized JS ;)

  15. Because they're unreal abstractions of reality. If you want to live life to the fullest, then by all meanings do it, but don't rely on a fake reality to make yourself happy. It's alright to have psychedelic experiences if they're self-inflicted (to an extent..), but just hallucinating all the time will totally mess you up. Totally makes people look at you weird, too. As seen in this thread.

What about daydreaming Iz? What about dreams? You can't just shut down your imagination?

Those people that believe in God or ghosts or mythical creatures make the living easier for themselves. They have a need to believe in those things same as a child has a need to believe in Santa, have imaginary friends or play cowboys and Indians.

I don't think that there's anything wrong about that.

Especially people that believe in God, they do so cause they need to achieve some sense of justice (I don't think that I have expressed myself the right way) meaning when injustice happens to them and they can't do anything about it, they have faith that those people that did them wrong will be punished in afterlife. It doesn't really matter if that's true but it makes life easier for them. And this is just one example, I'm not saying that this is the only reason why people believe in God.

  16. “Easter Bunny claims his victim”

    by Andromeda

    April 14, 2009

The body of an unidentified Caucasian male in his mid thirties was found in the backyard of a house that was vacant, and as it seems it was lying there for quite a while. An old married couple that regularly spends their winter seasons in Florida came back home today early morning to a sight that was not pleasant to see, said Brainden Police Chief Martini.

The unidentified male, for now referred to as John Dou was laying face down on the ground near the house, with some coal fragments and a carrot lying next to him and a large garden fork lodged in his back.

With little to go on Chief Martini did not jump into conclusions since there were no signs of struggle. An autopsy is pending to try and determine who the man was and how exactly he died.

(Chief Martini of course knew exactly what happened, do you?) :)

Please use spoilers or the Easter Bunny will claim another victim :P

  17. Nice. I may have not concentrated enough. I saw lines of figures of indescribable people in sixes. Please inform me if I am missing something else.

I have seen a cube!

EDIT: And there's one more layer on the outside that I have not seen the first time around.

I love these kind of stereograms that are not obvious about what they are hiding :)

  18. Sandwich = 6 brainars

    Beer = 3 brainars

Hi Nikhilesh! Welcome to the Den!

That is the correct answer, and it has already been posted before, however, next time you put down your answer to some riddle please use spoilers (on your left after you click on the add reply button). That way you won't spoil the enjoyment of solving the riddle for other members!

    Have fun :)

  19. Can we not just ban members from our PM list for spamming?

If they are spamming admin - they should be banned from forum

    the usual fee applies €0.02

Nah... rookie said that they activate some kind of bots that enable them to send hundreds of PMs within few minutes and this PM flood control is somewhat an obstacle. I don't mind that one minute of waiting.

Those people that do that don't really have an interest being the members of this forum LIS, they are just filling up their quota.
