Question

Lost and gone,

Only the master cares.

Forgotten and dead,

No one around to share.

Like infomercials

The kind for your hair.

Have a reason

For making all stare.

Not just empty,

You whine like we care.

Leave for new,

Or a reason; to be fair.

Lost and gone,

Only the master cares.

Forgotten and dead,

No one around to share.

- makes me think death of a pet, or the disappearance of a story

Like infomercials

The kind for your hair.

Have a reason

For making all stare.

- makes me think of things that are fake and flashy - women who are photoshopped to look better, dehumanizing advertising. But maybe it's just referring to eccentric hairstyles, something weird

Not just empty,

You whine like we care.

Leave for new,

Or a reason; to be fair.

- hidden substance to something that seems empty, or rebellion to something unfair, but not that bad

Overall: history of learning and career building? (first verse refers to the old practice of apprenticeship, following your father's trade, second verse referring to students applying to colleges, third verse referring to the same students looking for jobs) The reconstruction of lost paintings, or redoing of old movies, or translations of old classics? (first verse refers to the original and best version being lost, second verse to the remake's deleterious attempt at mass market appeal, the third verse refering to people who actually liked the remake and will defend it against haters)

well the first verse reminds me of some farm or something that has been destroyed, mainly because of the second verse with the infomercial about hair because those are mostly about regrowing hair,and that somehow makes me believe it's a metaphor for a farm. then the third verse is about how you dislike something and maybe want it gone. so my answer would be weeds.

1st stanzia==a lost "art"

2nd stanzia=="paint" for your hair

3rd==sounds like a "critic"

Good Morning MrsP, another great riddle! Maybe I can hang around long enough to get a couple of guesses in on this one. Hope so.

divorce, esp man leaving for "trophy wife"

Good morning, so nice to see you :D What a fantastic guess, really - wow. I wish I would have thought of that for an answer (but if I had the riddle would've been totally different, lol). Please keep great guesses like that coming.

stanza==#1... gone #2...(infomercials)stupid...#3...leave for a reason

so put all together

one of the two in a relationship left for a stupid reason

that didnt make sense

Trying another route...

Thanks for the continued guesses. Not that, though.

By the way, in the second stanza I am talking about a specific infomercial.

But they are stupid!
