I was working off the tree of life for my last guess. Had also bounced around the thought of tree being literal as in a lynching/hanging which works even with the title but "always fair"??? IDK

I was thinking

fate, and also "the law" but more along the lines of fate. And with fair I had the idea of male and female alike, so gender, or such. I'm not sure.
