What is hot, then is cold by turn? Able to defy gravity and even escape time, yet is found on ocean beaches and is hidden in trees and flowers? 0 Guest
I take back that last post. is it something to do with the wording and the order and not the meaning of the words?
0 Guest
I take back that last post. is it something to do with the wording and the order and not the meaning of the words? Here is the only response I can give. 0 Guest
I think it's space... Space was hot but is gradually getting colder in our universe.. and i think it fits the rest too... also it could be oxygen or helium or who knows
0 Guest
I feel like it's the letter 'o' I initially thought the same thing, except that Trees wouldn't fit. And why "Susy"???
0 Guest
Also, Impervious' and Pittwork's answers could fit under SomeGuy's answer, which fills in the gaps of other places--except of course the end of the riddle about meaningless words and order. What about Wind? Can be hot or cold depending on direction of air masses, defies gravity, independent of time, ocean breezes, wind in the leaves. Still, I have no idea what the end of the riddle means. AND WHY IS THIS ADDRESSED TO SUSY???? I assume it's part of the answer, but I'm totally lost on that. 0 Guest
Wind, oxegen, and so forth do fit the first part of the riddle, but they do not fit the ending. Good try though
0 Guest
Well then it appears the fruits of our mental labors have not reaped the desired benefits, so the time may have come for a real hint about the end of the riddle that could give us some direction as to what we are looking for. 0 Guest
Susy = Supersymmetry .. so perhaps gravitational waves .. or more simply put, Waves. Edit: fixed gravity to the more correct gravitational. Edited November 12, 2008 by Nintova

0 Guest
Ok, new look. Could mathematics/mathematical world be the place in which these 'skillfully crafted words' are true? That being said An equation or a mathematical symbol?
0 Guest
""Susy, dear, please listen. What is hot, then is cold by turn? It is just something used by humans to communicate, not to give things permanent names. A rock is still a rock no matter what name it is given. Well i think the answer is water. It can go up plants and trees through capillary action avoiding gravity and it is found on the beaches. It also changes temperature by seasons. But i don't know about defying time. Nice riddle btw.
