Guest
A traveller was vacationing on an island, inhabited by two primitive tribes, one who told only the truth, and one who told only lies. One day on his way to a village, he came to a fork in the road not knowing which way to go,to get to the village,he looked to the two men standing there, however he had no idea which tribe they were from, truthtellers or liers. before asking them which way to go he asked them another question, to figure out which tribe they where from, what did he ask? He asked, Do either of these roads lead to the village? Since he knew that one of the roads did, if they said no they would be liars, and if they said yes they would be truthtellers. 0 Guest
Here is probably a better question to ask, just so that you can get it all done with in one question: It is to the left if and only if you tell the truth. Do you agree? If the left way is correct, both the liar and truth teller will agree, if the village is to the right, they will disagree. 0 Guest
Is it to the left? But the OP asks how to identify the person, not the path. This doesn't tell you anything. You don't know which way the village is yet, so you can't decide if the person lies or not. Also, the point of identifying the person was to next ask which way to go. I was just skipping the first question.
