Question

This riddle will be given in many parts and has to involve a few rules based on our BrainDenizens' instinctual sense of justice and honesty :) The rules may seem odd, but they are necessary if this is going to work.

1) Do not under any circumstance right down or copy onto another file any of the parts of this riddle.

2) Do not reply to any of my posts in this topic. If this is done, I will ask that that part of your post be removed.

2.1) Only answer the visible part of the riddle. Answers to previous parts will be asked to be removed.

3) After at least 5 replies (questions don't count) are given to each part of the riddle, that given part will magically disappear :o

4) Therefore you will have to base your deductions on the answers posters have given, whether they be right or wrong

5) Even if a correct answer is not given, I will erase that particular part if there are at least 5 guesses

6) At any point, if someone guesses the entire riddle, then game over, you win!

Part 1:

I'm nowhere close to being able to solve the whole riddle...hopefully some of you other smarties are.

However, I do have a guess

I'm thinking "Y"

I sound like myself much more,

When I don't begin words you've heard (Y sounds like "yuh" when it begins words, but typically sounds like "why" - the proper pronunciation of the letter -when used in a word.

Associated with red, but not with gore (this may be way off, but I was thinking about the words dye/die. As in Red Dye and Die in a gory sense.)

I'm the second half of the third word (of course, if my guess of O was correct for part 5, that would make the thrid word "Oy" - which is fine in Australia, but I-sans American. :D)

Edit: and I-san, can you please tell your avatar to stop staring at me like that...it's making me nervous.

for the first lines, only X and H seem to work superficially (e.g. hour, xylophone). X could be red in XOXO (kisses) or XXX (rated). H, no idea. Neither really fits nicely with one other letter before it (oh, ax, ox?). F is appealing because it would work well after O from part 5 (if that is the solution), but I can only fit it to the red part--bad grade (hence lots of red marks on an exam), not the first part. This just count as one full guess, right?

I am thinking something like fri/fry. Fri is the beginning of one day, which isn't quite a combo of days. Fry is also the nickname of a character from Futurama. I'm not sure how it would fit with the other clues though.

That's what fist came to mind for me also, but now I'm thinking that these hints may each be a part of one word.

A combo of two days beginnings

- maybe the first letter of two different days (like: S for Saturday and S for Sunday gives us "SS".)

A Game where you collect your winnings:

Poker would be the obvious answer - seeing as how you cash in poker chips (your winnings)but that's a long answer, given I-sans been handing us just one or two letters at a time.

One of Groenings character's nicknames:

What did Groening do: Simpsons, LIfe In Hell, Futurama...good Lord, it could be anything!

Suggestive of mountainous terrain:

My first thought was dirty. My second thought was about a topographical map, or altitude, or the name of a mountain range (ie: rockies, alps, etc.)

I was thinking something like "monty" or some variation, which sort of combines monday and tues/thurs (not sure where the Y comes from). But it is a nickname for Montgomery Burns, also fits 2nd line as three card monty, and the last line as "mountain-y"

Chris.

1. I'm not sure of any restaurants that end with chris, but I think there is a good chance that there is one.

2. Christopher Columbus

3. Chris is a common nickname

4. The emperor's crest is a chrysanthemum

yeah, that definitely fits for line 3. i'm always saying how there are way too many Chris's in the world. and it fits well for the other lines too.

(s)cent?

The first line could refer to being "on the scent". I'm not really sure about the second, but it may relate to the economy. We use both scents and cents all the time, and the cent is related to the dime.
