This reminds me of a lab I did in college...

plasma?

There can be "cold" plasmas, plasma is not as common as the other phases (gas, liquid, solid). Since plasmas are made of ions, and there is repulsion between like charges, then if the denser it, the higher repulsion. By running a voltage through the plasma, arcs of the ions that are visible can be formed.

not as hot as I suggest-metal that's liquid at room temperature

not as useful as the rest- it's liquid, but other metals aren't and can be used for building commonly

the free flowing stuff and last lines-it can carry an electric current
