bonanova
Alex just offered Davey $1,000,000 to answer a yes/no question truthfully. Would you advise Davey to accept the offer? Why or why not?
0 BobbyGo
Yes. Answer the question. At worst, Alex asks an unanswerable question and you get no money -same as if you had refused. At best, Alex gets to embarrass you with whatever truth you told and you get $1,000,000. (Just make sure it's not in Somalia Shillings, or Monopoly money.)
0 dark_magician_92
Well, we don't seem to lose anything, unless we have done something criminal and not got caught. We may get convicted then. Just saying.... or may be our bank account's details and we may suffer if we hold more than million dollars(like bonanova)
0 bonanova
Both BobbyGo and dark_magician said they would take the challenge. Here is the question to which they promised a truthful answer: Will you either answer no to this question or pay me two million dollars? This question courtesy of Raymond Smullyan. 0 ParaLogic
Hah! Now we bring out the monopoly money! Wouldn't he still be able to answer 'No'? Alex did not specify that he couldn't reply with fallacy. Davey just won't get the $1M for a truthful response. 0 Dariusray
Alex may ask, "Will you give the million dollars back to me if I give it to you now?" Edited May 1, 2013 by Dariusray

0 flamebirde
Oh well, breaking a promise is better than losing 2 mil. unless Davey is some kind of super-trillionaire...
