  1. Admittedly, my imagination is pretty crazed *whistling*...but no, I can't take all the creative credit. If you do not get the references b/c you have not played Portal/Portal 2...you should . Portal is the best game ever made...and Portal 2 is even better ;P. Edit: @flamebirde...yeah, that does seem to be the consensus ;D
  2. I think there's an old Mafia Discussion thread somewhere...but I'm too lazy to go dig it up...so I'm just going to start talking here. Yeah, it sucks to die (yes, I mean in mafia...although it's probably not that fun in RL, either XP)...I had this idea for a game setup that allows player's role actions to live on even after they die: GAMBIT MAFIA Instead of sending in a Night action each Night, a player sends in a list of actions for as many Nights as they think the game will last (or Day actions if there are Day actions). For example, if you are a save, your list could be: N1: Save self N2: Save Player A N3: Save Player B N4: Save Player C N5: Save Player A ... And so on and so forth. The actions can be conditional, based on information that is publicly revealed in the OP or the Night/Day Posts or to your role previous to the Night/Day the gambit is for. Examples: N1: Save self N2: Save Player A, if Player A is dead, Save Player B. If Player A and B are dead, save Player C... ...etc. Or, if you are, say, a kill: N1: No action. N2: If one player is blocked on N1 and there is no mafia Night kill, kill that player... A gambit must lead to a specific action on a specific target, or it will be disregarded. I.e. if two players were blocked, you can't say "kill one of them". You could say something like "If multiple players are blocked, kill the one that appears first on the roster," since the roster is public information. You cannot base your gambits on actions/posts of the host, i.e. you cannot say "If multiple players are blocked, kill the one that appears first in the Night Post", and you cannot base your gambits on claims/subjective judgments made by other players. At any time while alive, the player may PM a new/revised gambit to the host. The most recent gambit received prior to the Day/Night deadline it is affecting will be the one enacted. Once dead, a player cannot change or cancel their gambits. (So be careful, or your actions will come back to haunt you ) Tell me what you think and whether there'd be interest in trying this. I haven't even started deciding what roles to put in yet.
  3. Love the diagram, btw...clever method...but... Cane? *Indignant glare* What are you implying about my age... (JK) But no, no cane, no specialized equipment of any sort. Y-san travels light...
  4. NIGHT 3 Mew was getting sick of all these 'experiments'. There were other things he wanted to get done, and the 'compensation' wasn't that great. So when Y-san ducked out to fetch some contraption she was going to need for the next round, Mew made a break for the exit, some distance away from him on the right. However, someone had painted a strip of orange paint that caused him to accelerate uncontrollably so that he shot past the exit and went tumbling into the wall. After collecting himself, he decided to make a second attempt, hopping over the orange strip. Unfortunately for him, someone else had painted a blue strip next to it that caused him to go bouncing wildly throughout the room. "Hey," a voice called to him when he finally came crashing to a stop. He looked up and a saw a person in a black suit in the vent above him. "Do you want help getting out?" The person asked. Mew nodded eagerly. "Yes, that would be great." "Go stand on top of that white paint over there..." the person instructed. Mew did. Then the person drew out the worm-hole gun that they had stolen when Y-san wasn't looking, and shot it at Mew's feet. "Is this to outsiiiiidddddddeeeee???" Mew asked as he began falling... ...right into the lake of toxic waste. Hirk was wondering the halls of the center, lost in his thoughts. He had been waiting for a sign all these Days and Nights, yet nothing had been forthcoming. Something had caught the corner of his eye while he walked past, but he hadn't paid much attention to it. What had it been again? Oh yes, a sign: PI: Y-san Roster: 1. Hirkala - DEAD Killed by KILL 2. Framm 18 3. MikeD - DEAD [KILL, Villager] Lynched 4. EDM 5. Flamebirde 6. mew - DEAD Killed by Mafia 7. 5. About an hour and a half remaining...send in your actions!
  6. Ohhh...damb I had that...I just parsed it wrong, so I ended with 'inch' instead... And ah, I thought the clue wanted you to take away the 'advantages', not the other way around. Good job DD!
  7. Hmmm...interesting...that might work...but the side of the house with the window does overhang the cliff...so it'd be challenging to keep your balance and land the jar and retrieve the string... The window was broken
  8. Yep, well done phaze! Next AoB-k will be up within a few days...gotta work out the kinks ...it's going to entitled Edit: Erp...what's with the spoilers?
  9. Close...but remember the autumn of 267? This is something like that ;P. Yes!

What happens in quantum statistical thermodynamics stays in quantum statistical thermodynamics...b/c no one else cares.
  11. Win condition is last faction standing (refer to OP). Due to the unknown nature of this game, and the amount of blocks/kills/saves it's hard to be certain that one faction or the the other can't win or can't lose based sheerly on the numbers.

Looks like it's going back to tiger_lily. Aha, I knew there was a reason my relatives seldom eat beef...;P
  13. DAY 2 Y-san and MikeD stood at the edge of a platform from which there was a precipitous drop to the platform below. "For this experiment I have constructed some wormholes," Y-san explained, pointing to an orange-lined shimmering oval on the lower platform. "The other end of the wormhole is on the inclined platform over there," she gestured to a blue-lined shimmering oval on a 45 degree raised surface, "You will jump off into the first wormhole, and there should be enough momentum to carry over the toxic waste," she waved at the lake of maleficient-looking green gunk in front of them, "and safely to the other side." She nodded at a large platform at the other end of the large room. "Are you sure this is safe?" MikeD asked uncertainly. "Yes, we ran a simulation based on your dimensions and weight and you had no trouble clearing the waste," Y-san smiled reassuringly. MikeD shrugged. If Y-san said so... "Geronimoooooo!" His mass accelerated into the wormhole and flung out the other end, his motion forming a beautiful parabola, that was clearing going to make it to the other side.. I'm flying, he thought, exhilarated. Just like Superman...and just as fast... ...Wait... Then he landed. PI: Y-san Roster: 1. Hirkala 2. Framm 18 3. MikeD - DEAD [KILL, Villager] Lynched 4. EDM 5. 14. If no mafia other mafia are awakened, otherwise they can choose a member. Post coming. Edit: Sorry Aaryan, past deadline. Taking last roster before deadline.
  15. Um...interesting. I'm not sure how you're getting the key inside the jar?
  16. Yes. No, kills are kills, blocks are blocks.
  17. Umm...not that huge...more like 2-3? I still am curious to see where you were going with this though...
  18. Not really sure what you mean by "paradoxical posts"...but my general rule of thumb is that actions are attempted (I guess kind of like beginning a sequence) at Night and everything goes through (or fails to) in the transition b/w Night and Day. Most cases follow logically from that...the ones that don't I try to specify (such as block on block). Uh...gratz? Guess you're not too busy studying for the bar then...
  19. Hmm...not sure where you're going there...but...um...huge? Y-san is mos def not a vegetarian ;P.
