    Bonus Points to for the theme.

    Good job and thanks to all who participated! :thumbsup:

  2. I've got the bathroom even -- even letters of potty = OT

    And turned back - TO

    And Mama once - MA....

    But I can't find an N to end it :unsure:

    Any ideas? :huh:

    That logic is good for a POW but these are a little different. One part is a fairly straightforward clue and the other part uses some sort of wordplay. The trick is determining which part is which. Also, the answer will fit the theme but the context in which it is used in the clue will not necessarily. You probably already know that but I wanted to say it for the benefit of anyone who may be following along.
  3. ICE

    I have many names, the world around,

    several styles and shapes, to be found. - Ice fits here

    Usually found wet, sometimes I'm dry, - water ice and dry ice

    I'm here on the ground, and in the sky. - ice on the ground and in the sky as clouds

    Very well known, and common you'll see,

    I date back in history to 3000 b.c. - I am not sure, but maybe that is when it was first recorded in history?

    Not much to look at then, in respect,

    today can be known, as very High Tech. - Ice machines?

    Found everyday, to me you'll depend,

    If on the road, a penny you could spend. - You could get in an accident if you skid on the ice.

    The answer will vary, this might confuse,

    If you are taught, then me you have used. Ice (in drinks) is a luxury usually associated with the first world and so is some sort of public education.

  4. Hey hm. Awoke and tripped over the furniture...

    7. Governmental department heads =hack imaginary bottom line. (7)

    hack = cab

    ( hack) imaginary = i

    bottom line = net

    Cabinet?

    alternative = alternate letters

    is not flat. = Sofa ?

    9. Suppress rude skills = at the workplace. (4)

    (Suppress) rude skills = Desk?

    :lol:

    Now stuck in the bathroom.

    Of course, those three are correct. Maybe when you get out you can have a go at #10 :lol:.

  5. bed

    An amateur probed [(excellent clue) -> bed = the bottom of the sea for oysters (i.e., oyster bed)

    I think [amateur probed]->bed is one of my favorite cryptic clues I've ever seen.

    You are correct! Thanks DD, I appreciate your feedback.
  6. There is not "prime cause" because time is not linear.

    There is no beginning (or end) of time just as there are no edges to the universe spatially. Space and time are the same thing anyhow.

    The "boundaries" of the universe have more to do with the limits of the laws of physics (the speed of light, etc.) than they do with actual physical edges. Like what octopuppy said, the superdense universe theories (although catastrophic for matter) do not require that the universe be reduced to an actual singularity. The universe as we know it (including our distant observations) is just a tiny piece of the whole picture.

  7. sideboard?

    Does a bird [get flipped -> anagram] -> sideboard = service counter

    Yes, indeed.

    table

    the first [first letter of the] ->t

    can -> able

    table = set aside

    Again, that is correct.

    wardrobe

    Brad wore [strange -> anagram] -> wardrobe = costumes

    3 for 3 way to go, DD!

  8. O.K. after tinkering with some other word riddle forms I have returned with another batch of cryptic clues. You can look at some of my past cryptic clues for guidance. Basically they are like cryptic crossword clues. I have added the length of each answer word to make this a little easier. Bonus points for figuring out the theme.
