  1. Donald, came into town, lean and wiry

Music, flew from his pipes, wild and fiery

With pack on his pack, and eyes wild with ecstasy

Some called him the devil, that Donald McGillavry!

Awesome song by an (I'll try my best to describe it) Irish/Celtic/Medieval/Renaissance melody band called the Empty Hats

For some reason I thought of it after reading this riddle.

    Anyway...

I'm trying to find out why an architect would be inking the designs to a ship... one thing I've come up with is a Las Vegas casino with a pirate theme that has a building in the shape of a ship? Of course, that would be a phony ship, but maybe the architect's just trying to make it seem not phony.

Also, statues, gargoyles with wings, snowglobes, and building and setting off a new cruise ship. Maybe an aircraft carrier? (yes, I know "ship" can refer to planes and not just boats, but that architect thing... architects make buildings, structures, not airplanes!)

Cool Lyric, DarthNoob, and some interesting thoughts but I for this riddle they are leading you astray.

    :P:lol:

    Ok, in seriousness

Earth Day (dirt = earth, Earth spins <once every '24 hours'>)

 I like the reasoning of your first answer but seriously the second one is right.

  4. This one should be fairly easy but we all know how that can go.

An Architect inked the upward side,

I like it too; but unfortunately that is not the answer.
  10. Memorial Day

Worthless trivia: Almost every year, more chips sold for this holiday than any other. Occasionally July 4 comes in 1st.

    Edit for:

    Columbus Day ?

Yes, interesting; but not the right answer for these.

  11. Hello, my name is <insert your name here>.

This one works rain or shine with all types of people. If it doesn't work you wouldn't have had a chance anyway. I taught this "trick" to a shy and awkward friend of mine and he wound up sitting at a table full of hotties and they were all laughing and talking together.

  12. #1...The atom

    Trying...

    Nope.

Magneto - scrap (scramble?) Megaton = Magneto, electrical generators can use magnets

These tend to be too cryptic for me, Huge! :P But I still have fun trying to figure them out, even when I epically fail! ^_^

 That is exactly right. You might be thinking a bit too cryptically the answer is simply a synonym for generator.

    10. Delhi batsman in 2003 film. (9)

    daredevil

[double meaning] [New Delhi cricket team -> Daredevils, 2003 film -> Daredevil]

I while ago some folks on the Den were complaining about the lack of clues related to Cricket. Please everyone, use any research you can to solve my puzzles. I would consider anything short of hacking onto my computer "fair game". :D

May have opened a can of worms

  13. This one is more of a traditional puzzle (as opposed to my usual cryptic clues) with mostly puns and some trivia.

The theme will become apparent after the first few are solved.
