The first part is not right and there is one more part.midterm

Solomons temple was first destroyed by the Babylonians? Thus ending the independence of the Israelites until restored by England in 1948.
Not sure if this is a "brain teaser", unless I am missing something.
-
Since it has almost been a week with no one really getting close to my intended answer, here is a hint for #11

Sol? (Earth's Sun)
I am one of many,(one of the stars in the galaxy) but my name is well-known
(Sol or the Sun)
At one time or another, I can see every home (northern or southern hemisphere almost everyday.
I can inspire and give good direction (a sunrise or sunset is inspiring and shows east and west)
I'm not considered trivial or full of affection (very important for life but the sun is often described as harsh or unforgiving)
If you can get a handle on me you'll know where you're headed (used in orienting your position as well as figuring out north, south, east and west)
But shining a light on me will not help you get it (Any light that you can shine would be insignificant compared to sunlight)
I rise high above but am one of the pack (high noon, and just another "ordinary" star.)
The sisters are with me and I've got their back (The sisters are a constellation. he's got their back meaning that he shines during the day while they shine at night)
edit: I had good reason but I got scooped by the right answer.
-

are the compound words spelled the exact way of the two combined put together?
EX: could "treason" be an answer for the compound words "tree" and "son"
Good question. Yes, the compound words are spelled exactly like words that the clue provides. No puns or other wordplay type clues on this one.
Of course the words are usually not the same meanings that the compound word answer might imply.
Also, the words in the clue can correspond to words that, when put together, will make the answer but individually do not correspond to the exact words that answer implies.
For example: dadpensicker - could be dad/pen/sicker or pa/ink/iller = painkiller.
Hope that this is helpful.
