thank goodness!!!
i'm thinking of Artemis or Minerva or something like that....???
Nope, all of your answers are making the same incorrect assumption. Remember, all of these have two parts a cryptic part and a more straight forward clue (often simply a synonym of the answer). You will get this one eventually.
-
i just hope it's not batgirl.....???
Ha ha, This one is a little Batman heavy, unintentionally. No, it is not that.
There are no more Batman related answers.
-
Ha EDM! I totally see where you got that from, unfortunately your are incorrect. My answer is a little more cryptic. When you get it you will know.Elektra.???
-
so did I mess up ...is that why you questioned "my" answer", I am trying my best to fit in here............
You are doing great! It is wonderful to see some new folks trying these as well as the usual suspects I just wanted to give you a chance to add the reasons. I will give them here:
Thread missing from red hood bird. The "thread missing" refers to a word that would link "red" and "hood" (red robin and robin hood). The "bird" portion is the clue.
Joker (a card and in the envelope means containing and was back means backwards: The card was in the envelope before Kojak was back.
Of course, Plainglazed, you got this one.

Hey HM I am not really "into" Batman, sry,
I just got... Batman=Robin
And, red hood bird= Robin...
Couldn't explain "thread missing" I dont think...
Although the answers have the theme "superheroes", the clues are not necessarily superhero references. In this case the clue has nothing to do with Batman.
Cryptic clues have two parts, a cipher part that is an obscured version of the answer using wordplay, anagrams , etc. and a clue part that is a more literal type of clue.
Edited for grammar. -HM
