put them in "code". There's an option in the spoiler thingy in the edit toolbar. Personally, I keep a copy in notepad and put <code> and </code> at the top and bottom of the list (change < and > to square brackets) If you do a Quote on one, you'll see what I mean

M is 4th. TRUMPED = 1, TRAPPED = 0, so only ??UM??? = 1. TRUMPET = 2 & CRUMPET = 2 so C cannot be 1st. CRIMPED = 1 and TRUMPED = 1 so I/U change makes no difference.

One thing I've noticed is that if you enter more than one line in the 'part to be hidden' then it gets wrapped. ie becomes one line. Similarly if you copy and paste into the box. All seems ok if you manually type the spoiler prefix and suffix codes.
