So do we trust Brandon? I will obviously find it hard to do that since you just voted for me man. But then again, I can understand why you would want to 'waste' an innocent in order to stay alive. Except I am not exactly expendable (no one is, to be honest since we all have special roles). What say everyone? BTW, GC is posting rather ghoulishly from beyond the grave claiming his innocence. Of course, if Itachi is really a truthful sage, then GC is a mafia. In which case, he is deceiving us. Can he do that, unreality?

@ slick, I was not sure why I to vote for Brandon. I just wanted to go to the next round since we were fairly lost. There are people who are convinced that Brandon is the mafia (the inspector/spy may have found something out about Brandon) so I was just following suit. Brandon then turned around and voted for me jsut to stay alive. That is pretty desperate and not caring about who he kills signals him being reaper (and to a lesser extend mafia) because he's also been trying to frame Nayana as the reaper without a convincing argument. So while I voted for him randomly, his reaction to that makes me feel glad I did vote for him. Cheers! -- Vig

I went out for dinner after I posted my stuff. Itachi, it does seem like you are Sage and the doctor has backed you (otherwise, there would have been one more vote for Itachi). I am changing my vote from Itachi to Brandon just so we can have the game move fwd (although I do not know why we are voting for him or why Brandon thinks Nayana is the reaper :S) Cheers! -- Vig

I agree that Illusionist is important. But we did not know that PG was an illusionist when she said her role was not important. I voted for her ONLY because she had an 'unimportant' role and had an equal chance as anyone else of being mafia/grim reaper. Actually, it doesn't matter. I am casting my vote for Itachi and then everyone else just vote behind me in one of the following 3 cases a) If you agree with my analysis since Itachi is slightly likely than anyone else to be mafia b) If you are the sage and there are 2 mafia left and you agree with my analysis c) If you are the Spy and you find Itachi is a maf. Let me make it very clear that I am not sure of Itachi being maf, I just think he has a slightly higher probability than the rest of us of being mafia (or even GR since GRs also want people killed!) Ok a quick look tells me that Itachi 'randomly' voted for PuzzleGirl. We know that PG was not mafia and we know Scott and dnae were also offed by the mafia. Which means that if there are 3 mafia left, then GC was innocent. If there are 2 mafia left, GC was a mafia and Itachi blindly followed him. Disclaimer: I also followed Itachi and GC in voting for PG, but that was AFTER she said her role was unimportant. I also vehemently defended her before she said her role was the least significant. I believe that kind of acquits me, but just mentioning it so that it doesn't look like I am framing Itachi for no good reason. My vote for Itachi is due to him folloing GC. Sage, you actually do not need to reveal your identity. Just go ahead and vote for Itachi if there are 2 mafia left. Spy, inspect Itachi (if you agree with my conclusion) and vote with me if he is mafia. Other innos also need to vote to prevent the mafia finding out who is sage and who is spy. Cheers! -- Vig

Ok the scenario stands like this: Doctor is definitely alive 8 of the following 10 are alive: Vigilante Defender Sage Spy Inspector Bomb Grim Reaper 3 mafias Scott was not mafia, so I hope GC was one. That would make sense because he came up with that "girls can't be mafia" argument for puzzlegirl, but I cannot be sure. Let me poke around that angle assuming GC WAS mafia. In the meantime, can the Sage tell us how many mafs are remaining? No offense, but even if everyone knows who the sage is, I think the Sage is least likely to be offed by the mafia since the other characters pose more immediate threats. Cheers! -- Vig

If you think there is a possibility of me being the vigilante, take your vote off the table since vigilantes cannot die during the day if they are lynched, but other innocents with special powers CAN die. Mafias can too though, but just saying you should vote for me only if you think I am mafia. And...ummm... yeah "votebacks" (i.e. voting for someone coz they voted you is a sign of a mafia or a newbie unless there is reason to suspect whoever you votebacked for).

I think the vigilante dies if he's lynched. PG said in her defense that she is a nobody. Now we got two scenarios. A) PG is a mafia/GR - I vote for her. End of story B) PG is innocent and PG is a nobody - Well amongst all the innocents we can afford to lose, a nobody is the least important. So maybe we SHOULD vote for PG after all if we're voting randomly. Yeah I know I defended her, but I assure you PG, I do not think you are a mafioso or innocent. I simply think that you are just as likely to be mafia as anyone else and the inno we can most afford to lose (by your admission) Cheers! -- Vig

No PMing allowed!! I think that is a pretty rigid rule of this game. You can say whatever you like as long as you understand the implications. People may choose to believe you or not. If you have a special role (like doc), then you may not want to reveal that since that way, the mafia will target you this night. You can start by taking apart GC's argument that the first impression is that the mafiosos are male. I, for one, vehemently dispute GC's arguments since it varies a lot by culture. Seeing from your profile pic, it looks like you are Indian and being from the same country meself, I realize that it is socially ingrained in our culture that criminal activity is associated with men. This is, however, less true in other cultures that I've had the joy of being exposed to. I am also sure that from a psychological perspective, while the subconscious stream of thought MAY associate men with being mafia, you are implying that unreality CONSCIOUSLY compensated for this and picked a female mafia. I doubt it and I would like to state that in my mind, pg is just as likely to be mafia is the rest of us. I am also not voting for GC for the same reason. His argument is perfectly rational if we had been playing this game amongst indians, but is on thinner ice given the diverse bunch of people we have here! I know it looks like I am trying to save pg (and I am pretty sure I'll be lynched if she IS indeed a mafia), but I want to categorically state that I do not mind voting for pg if there is a better argument. I would love to hear itachi's rationale for voting for puzzlegirl. Of course, we can also all gang up on pg because we are all voting randomly anyway, but I shall resort to that once I am convinced there is no reason to vote for anyone else. And oh! I happen to go by Vig, so can everyone try not to use my nickname for vigilante because I was thoroughly confused by an earlier post ) Cheers! -- Vig

I've been following the game closely, I promise. Just haven't been energetic enough to post much! Grey Celled friend of mine, don't pick people based on gender/history etc... I am not saying Scott or pg are innocent, but we definitely need more proof than 'equal rights' to vote for someone. In fact, I am sure unreality prefers being gender-blind rather than enforcing equality amongst genders. The accusations are loose. So loose that I am tempted to vote for you, but that would only be slightly less ridiculous. Cheers! -- Vig

Came across this on a newsgroup: https://implicit.harvard.edu I took a few of these and my 'unbiased' results are as follows: I am unbiased between Hillary, Obama and McCain I am unbiased between Blacks and Whites I am unbiased between Straight and Gay people My first test told me I had a moderate bias for able people vs. disabled people. I took the test again a few times and it told me that I have no bias. I think the first time result may have been off because I don't naturally associate a road sign of a dog with blind people. Here are some of the tests that told me I was prejudiced: I moderately associate Males with Family and Females with Careers I moderately associate Asian Americans with 'America' and European Americans with 'Foreign' I like Judaism slightly more than other religions (The test was for anti-Semitisim and I guess I am pro-Semitic) I slightly associate men with science and women with liberal arts Tell us if you find out something cool about yourself. Some of these prejudices are very counter-intuitive since I consciously believe that women are better caretakers of family than men. I also look at all religions with contempt and have observed first hand that Asian Americans tend to hold on to their culture a lot more than European Americans do. The results were very surprising given this information! Cheers!

I really do not think that the game can afford any more blind lynchings. I think it's about time the inspector came out with who the mafia is. The doc can protect the inspector (crucial that doc remains anonymous) and I am not longer afraid of dying since I am not an inspector (I have not received a PM yet) Explanation for my behaviour last night: If the mafia attacked me and I was saved, I would be confirmed innocent which would help the innocents. Now it is just as unclear as it was before though. I would urge everyone to wait for the inspector to come out and tell us who the mafia is since we have no fear of GR. Then we do have the problem of someone claiming to be inspector when they are not (and pointing a finger), but let us get all the claims out in the open. If anyone sees a problem with the inspector identifying a mafia for us, let us all know. Edit: And oh! If the ratio is 4:4 , we might as well stop right now since mafia has won. So if we're continuing, let's assume that the ratio is 3:5 )
