No one correct yet. A few interesting ponderations with potential.

None correct so far. Answer must be specific.

My signature cherished, I’m world renowned, Ever in flight above the ground. Teeth of a bull chewing in time, Gnawing on knots, shunning the find. Hands at the ready, arms at the stay, Heart like the sun beating away. Ears like a rabbit pinned to the side; Listening close, far, and wide. Eighteen in all, each heading a state, Ever awaiting the fall of fate.
  4. Thanks Grayven, but I just have to smack my head on this one. It could've been the best of the lot. I've since changed it and think it so now. I'm calling it the "Showdown Riddle." Face to face, it’s four against one As the cowboy sees a rising sun. None are armed, one breast is shown, Six old Indians gave them a home. The father, the sheriff, the lawyer so true, Another held feathers, for fourteen they grew. Hard and heartless with indomitable wills, Eyes of these heroes look to the hills.
  5. With me ruddy face and me little green hat, I’m tastefully dressed (though a wee bit fat). Cute little buttons cover me coat, I’m a false lil’ munchkin that kiddies like most. Hunt me in fields on a soommer’s day, Find me yah win, for your pleasure I'll pay. Soonny and rainy—me favorite sky. Now can yah guess . . . What am I?
  6. Damn!!!!!! You trashed it in seconds!!! Arrrgggghhhhh! What tipped it off so easily, the titans and hills part? Good job, though. Hrummph!
  7. Face to face, four against one The cowboy looks to a rising sun. Four crowns only, one breast shown, Six old Indians sharing their home. Father and author, keepers two, Born of destruction, fourteen they grew. Hard and heartless, indomitable wills, The visions of titans encompass the hills.
  8. Sorry Scarlet, you're heading in the wrong direction. This is an actual historical figure.
  9. Good guess but missed the mark.

"All politicians are thieves." "No composer is a politician." Conclusion: No one knows where hapa haole came from.
  11. Hmm. Everyone's way south on this one. The "wasteland" title is for several reasons, one which might become clear when the answer is known. But mostly because I needed a title and it applies geographically (not to mention I'm huge fan fan of Eliot's work). Rather than a hint, here's a minor rewrite to bring everyone up to date: A thoroughbred bastard trotting in sand A reluctant knight in a barren land. Saves one warrior as no other could, Slays none other to bind the blood. Fan of Arthur, bound to the Book, Serves King and prince as foreign rook. Unites the fight then taken to sea, Shuns the light, sets them free. Towers he's written (half dozen and one) Of knowledge admired, about a rule undone. Through hell of the wasteland the bastard did crawl, From a Superior steed, in good deed, did fall.
  12. Sorry, no to all. Some here are aware of my penchant for using broad metaphor and colorful motifs that might nonetheless lead one away from the actual answer. I do it mostly for style and just a tad out of tongue-in-cheekiness. However, in all I also incorporate enough clues that if deciphered and / or considered together they would most definately lead to the answer. Such is the case with this one. Suggestion: don't sieze solely on the Arthurian slant. It's but a minor relation only understood by closely researching the individual, who is in fact a well-known historical figure. Good luck.
  13. That 10 % can be a real bi+ch, eh? Nice try.
  14. Katira and K.K. No and no. Keep trying.
  15. A thoroughbred bastard trotting in sand, A reluctant knight in the barren land. Saves one brother as no other could, Slays none other to bind the blood. Loyal to Arthur, bound to the Book, Serves King and Prince of a different look. Unites the fight taken to sea, Shuns the light, becomes the key. Towers he’s risen, half dozen and one, Of knowledge admired, of a rule undone. Through the fires of wasteland the bastard did crawl, From a Superior Steed, in good deed, did fall.

Yeah, I didn't know whether to go with the Stalingrad info I got from Wiki, or the Dresden thing. No diff. Thanks for the kudos and keep knocking 'em down so I can put more up. S.
