Sorry, this is not about what you believe it to be. Try again. And Romulus, there are no typos.

Sentries silent, in the right, Ten in all the team, Guarded vile servant tight, Who stood against his queen. She served along with husband well, And all bowed to the one, The winner left who begged to tell The victory soon won. Upon the field these warriors lie In armored suit arrayed, Be it love or money, tool or leaf, They soundly won the day

    Graven surreptitiously nails it. Bravisimo!

Why "must" it be? Particularly when it's not Close. Read closer.

Too large boots on camera stomp Silent frightened form, A twin star bard, consular kin Smashing voice a charm. Studded neck, soul of gold His grown redeeming heart unfolds For children’s joy or horror told Both he took by storm

Bravo Alethea (any relation to the outstanding Robin Trower song?) I realize that my explication would be somewhat redundant, but I already have them written out to go with the riddles so here it is anyway.

Rewrite: My name at rest, the vinter best, All who mocked were put to test. The fourth I cursed, as servant deemed Which mocked my flesh while under dream. The last of ten, fathers all In cursed land I heard one call. Above the earth, within a fort Which houses last, the first to court. My meager flame to whom I love Did send aloft the scent above. And in this odor, true to know The truth of man as he would grow. And so the arch multihued To remind the mind what it mustn’t do. (The word pig didn't work well as a proper side to emerald ovaries)

Vinter: One who makes wine Pray for clues and hints as ye will, none so soon. Cheers
  12. Well, Haley, I see you get the picture. Good show. Yes, you are correct.

Oh wise one . . . A title is just a title. It's the riddle that counts.

________ is an empty poet Dredging up once-used remains For his creation of insane proportions, Stitching up his deformation electrified Then left to play— The doctor’s left with naught to say. And _________ pens an angry rhyme Preying on whomever's near, Seeking out those vital tendons, Hoping God will somehow mend him, His curse is hurled upon a star— Poor Lawrence Talbot goes too far. Old ________ now, a horror story dragging feet and spreading fear, A dusty bag of ragged bones Reciting verse of gripes and groans. A royal pain untombed is he— Moaning through eternity. But __________ is another matter, A troubadour until the end. This musing monster plumbs the night, Adores his blood and shuns the light. Leveled for the sake of love, Why— Poesy fits him like a glove! Though this lover may not know it He makes a bloody decent Poet.
  15. Of course! Now go get that Piggy!
  16. Thanks Graven. I altered the "honey" term to "sweety" for my finalized version. If you read the explication you may have noticed I'm prepping these for possible publication. Who knows? I can do about five a day so I think it may be lucrative if there's an avid audience (other than here of course )

I am at rest, the vinter best, All who mocked were put to test. The pig I cursed, as servant deemed Which mocked my flesh while under dream. The last of ten, fathers all In cursed land I heard one call. Above the mirror, within a fort Which houses last, the first to court. My meager flame to whom I love Did send aloft the scent above. And in this odor, true to know The truth of man as he would grow. And thus a ribbon multihued To remind the mind what it mustn’t do.
  18. Crown of powder, splintered grin, Seat of power, king of win. Not a stranger, we meet each day, But with fortune, or when you pay.
  19. No one even in the ball park, but that's understandable given the answer. DanC (appropriate name in this instance), your guess is interesting but I would never post a riddle that requires such convoluted interpretation. It wouldn't be fair. And Wiz . . . why, you misjudge me sir! I ALWAYS include enough subtle clues . . . be they key words, metaphor, or motifs, to allow for success in solving. The trick is to figure out which is which! Here's an updated version. More for style than as any real help or hint: Shimmy, shimmy, shimmy! All gather 'round! Put me on the clock, gonna bring the house down! Turn to the right, swing it back again, Give the gals a flower when the shimmy-shake ends! Shimmy, shimmy, shimmy! Sun's up above, Dance for your honey till the shimmy-shake's done. Turn to the left, bring it ‘round again, Gotta leave the house when the shimmy-shake ends! Now I'm feelin' dizzy so girls get busy, The end!
