Guest
There was once a man who made A panic about an alien raid If his name you want to know, Make a wish—and pennies throw. Next look for a man who yearned To rival poet Bobby Burns Yet that is not what he did best For he was a great novelist. Now must come a man who rushed So fast, so far, that he was bushed He did his best, and faithfully, Whose wife once asked, “Did you marry me?” In common these three have but little But here I hope to find acquittal To one who’s wise, they will spell out The name this riddle writes about. Question
Guest
There was once a man who made
A panic about an alien raid
If his name you want to know,
Make a wish—and pennies throw.
Next look for a man who yearned
To rival poet Bobby Burns
Yet that is not what he did best
For he was a great novelist.
Now must come a man who rushed
So fast, so far, that he was bushed
He did his best, and faithfully,
Whose wife once asked, “Did you marry me?”
In common these three have but little
But here I hope to find acquittal
To one who’s wise, they will spell out
The name this riddle writes about.
