Question

My wife and I went to a party with 4 other married couples (10 people in all). Each pair of persons who did not know each other were introduced. At the end of the party, I asked each of the other nine people there how many people they were introduced to. To my great surprise, I got all 9 possible answers -- 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7, and 8. How many people was my wife introduced to?

You make it sound as tho they are all meeting as a pair. That would make it impossible for the resulted answers of 0-8 people met. If Mr. and Mrs. Smith are a couple, and they are meeting other pairs/couples that they don't know, how do they end up with different # of people met?

I think that each person individually knew a different amonut of people. Like maybe Husband #1 knew Husband #2 and Wife #2 from the last party but the wife of Husband #1 wasn't there, therefore she is introduced to 3 people. I don't have any clue on how to find the answer but I got that much. Each pair is taken from different couples. Like a piar of people would be Wife #1 and Husband #2
