Two men are found dead in a room, there is a table and 53 Bicycles on the floor. What happened to the men? 52 Bicycles are red one is blue. there were 3 men playing poker, the 2 dead found that the other one was cheating, he killed them. they were murdered. If you dont get it, the bicycles are playing cards, one is blue because it's from a different deck, thus cheating! 0 Guest
I have to say, this sounds like something that could have been posted here before, but I have not seen it. Since there are only 52 cards in a deck, and there are 53 (Bicycle Playing Cards) bicycles on the floor, I would say that there was a poker game. Someone cheated. Gunfight ensues. Men die. Whether there was a third man who was the cheater and killed the other two when caught, or one man caught the other and they killed each other cannot be determined. And I didn't even look at the hint! I'm so proud. Edited April 16, 2009 by Grayven

0 Guest
I'm sorry, you're all wrong..... Anybody cheating in a game of poker in which the stakes are high enough to kill over, would not be dumb enough to use a card of a completely different color. The bicycles therefore must actually refer to the 2-wheeled, pedal driven recreational vehicle. 2 customers fighting over the last remaining blue bicycle. A squabble ensues and as the two men are fighting they fall over and hit their heads on the table, killing them both instantly.

Anybody cheating in a game of poker in which the stakes are high enough to kill over, would not be dumb enough to use a card of a completely different color. What if it was last minute, he's a worldwide poker scammer with over 100 different cheap decks? So he just grabbed a deck, and the card color was only known by the dealer. Yes illogical! AND, the first letter of Bicycle was capitalized, indicating a brand, unless it was a typo. The bicycles therefore must actually refer to the 2-wheeled, pedal driven recreational vehicle. 2 customers fighting over the last remaining blue bicycle. I bet the reason it didn't show up on your search was that if you search while you're within one of the subforums (New Word Riddles) it'll only search within that subforum. The old post was from before the logic and word riddles got separate subforums, and it's still in the logic one. That's likely why it didn't show up on your search. You can still search all the subforums if you're in the root Brain Teasers Forum page though.

0 Guest
Sorry for this minor hijack, just a little confusion of mine I don't quite get how you made the link between bicycles and playing cards (apart from the numbers mentioned in the riddle) - would you explain for me please as I am quite befuddled? lol Ok, hijack over
0 Guest
to TheEvanescentAmaranth: Bicycle is a popular brand of playing cards. Otherwise: The two men own a bike shop which goes bankrupt. The room is actually a trash compactor where they're throwing the bikes to crush up for scrap metal. One man goes to throw a table into the compactor and the other guy wants to keep it and they get into a fight and both fall in (with the table) and are killed on the heap of metal. 0 Guest
Nah I think this is the clear answer the cheating card answer is too obvious. Clearly these men were painting the bikes to a more marketable blue in an inclosed area and died due to paint fumes! Or perhaps its a bike chop shop! 0 Shakeepuddn
Man, this riddle is old as dirt; I can't believe it hasn't been posted here before. The men were gambling. One was cheating. A gunfight ensued and all were shot, or else survivor(s) split the scene. Bicycles are playing cards.
