I think I may have it. Total newbie here.

Lady Liberty aka The Statue of Liberty.

She had the quarter until Washington was on it. She "fell for a trick" because she was part of the disappearing magic trick by David Copperfield. The fold/hold part references the book she holds with the date of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Finally the reference to the other "two" is in reference to the other two replicas of the Statue of Liberty, I think.

Interesting take on the riddle. But...

"I've two that aren't faces" Replicas of the statue of liberty would have faces. Two forms that the ansewr takes do not have faces. If you missed the earlier hint, I said that the "quarter" is a person. Do not be misled and think I meant it's a person on the quarter. The person is the quarter, or is a quarter.

I like your fold take on the book. But this is not what I am discribing.

Funny you should mention the statue of liberty though, there is a statue on Cony Island that may play a part in all this.

After a reasonable voice. - Ayn Rand's first "novel", Anthem. was originally titled "A Voice of Reason" Her novel Atlas Shrugged came after, a few decades later.

I was indifferent and thick, - Atlas "Shrugged" is 1100 pages.

and I fell for a trick. - Atlas, the man who held the heavens on his shoulders gave the task to Hercules while he (Atlas) went to go retrieve the golden apples for hercules. Atlas tried to leave hercules with the burden of holding the heavens, but hercules tricked atlas into taking the weight back by saying "If you take the heavens back on your shoulders Atlas, I can put some pads on my shoulders so it will be more comfortable for me to hold." Yeah, Hercules never took the world back on his shoulders.

I couldn't have a half, - Atlas couldn't trick Hercules (Half a god)

But I atleast had a quarter. - Charles Atlas had a son named Herc (Half of the word 'Hercules', therefore, a quarter of a God. (half of a half)

with a rational mind. - A theme of Atlas Shrugged is Morality based on logic and reason.
