Hello

Well i currently have a geography feildwork assesment task on Litter at <my schools name>...

And my three focus questions are-

1. Why is there litter in the school?

2. Does the school have enough bins?

3. What are the consequences of the litter?

Now i dont need the first two answered because none of you will know that (except for hakunii), but i would like to hear your answer to the last question... as well as-

What can we do to prevent/reduce the litter?

Now i already have answered the questions so you wont be doing it for me i just would like to hear some smart people answer this

Would it be alright to ask what you already have developed? This is more of a discussion question, something to give your opinion on. If you give us what you have, we might be able to help you think of new things

ok what i already have for- What are the consequences of the litter

- Its a bad image for visitors

- Smells bad

- Neighbours complian (as rubbish blows onto their property)

- Looks horrible

- Attracts birds and other wildlife, which can then get sick/injured because of what they attempt to eat

and for - What can we do to prevent/reduce the litter?

- have more bins

- put bins in fixed positions

its not actually that much now that i look at it...

It is a really great start! You can write alot about this if you have to.

Something to think about....When someone litters, how does that reflect their character? When an individual is allowed to litter and no one holds them accountable to it, how will this affect their feelings of responsibility?

About your answers to ways to prevent litter, you have a good start on taking care of the availability of ways for people to get rid of their trash, but what are some ways that you can change the way they think, so that they do not want to litter?

Maybe to organize litter collecting action every week or month (depending on the amount of garbage around your school and the surrounding area) to collect the litter that was blown away by the wind (cause not everything stays in the bin), or thrown away buy people.

DO NOT ask for others to do your homework for you.

I'm leaving this thread open for now as others can help you indirectly, but do not ask for others to answer questions for you in the future and "I already have answered the questions so you wont be doing it for me" is not acceptable!

well today i came up with many more (adding what i already had too)

-More bins in better locations

-education program

-Fixing bins to poles

- small punishment for major litterers

-annual clean up days

-Have a place to put food scraps

- recycling bins in playgrounds

Things to do as in individual

-put rubbish in bin

- pick up any rubbish laying around

-encourage others not to litter

-help the teachers clean up

-put forth idea about clean up days

-close bin lids so the rubbish does not fly away.

Are they reasonable enough?
