Question

Last Sunday at around noon, I pulled off route 66 into K-J's Diner for lunch. A young, leggy waitress glided over to my table, said hello, and presented me with a large menu card listing numerous lunch items. I scanned the appealing options and decided.

“I’d like Numbers 1 and 20,” I said.

“That’ll be The Number One Son and Big Daddy?” she asked.

“Quite correct,” I replied.

She then hurried off to give my order to the chef.

What did she bring me for lunch?

Corn? Beef? Interesting.

I have no idea where the egg stuff is coming from.

Mmmmmm... since I love to eat I have to give it a go! 295_dinner_date.gif

Corn plus beef sandwich perhaps, but then again I have no idea about the menus there in USA?!

EDIT: Scratch that, maybe

An egg and a turkey sandwich!

:D

Oh ye of little faith! Langdon would have surely delivered the answer by now. Clear logic should lead to the only verse in my initial post wherein the key to solving this riddle lies. I pray you find it. Cheers.

Is far from a Revelation, then isn't it? I'll have mine with extra saurkraut, please.

VERY well done with all the hints. I especially like the name of the Diner.

Extra points if you can guess the shape of the menu? :D

edit: added snark

Ha! I was worried I would have to throw in a saurkraut clue! Well done. Maybe I should have forgone the added hints, or would that have seen my creation cast into the eternal abyss? What do you think?

Perhaps if you were traveling down route 666?

Oh, and if they know the first thing about marketing, I'll wager those menus look like carved stone tablets. I also noticed a mark next to item #6 - The all you can eat breaded fish fry. What's that mean?
