Question

Inspired by Woon but with my own recipe ;)

Sudden death of a famous mathematician has given a lot of headache to the investors that were hoping to benefit from Professor’s brilliant mind. His latest work was nowhere to be found. However his coworkers knew that the Professor spent most of his time in his office so they were convinced that the algorithm that he constructed was there... but where??

The Professor’s office was thoroughly searched but his work was nowhere to be found. They knew that the Professor enjoyed solving and constructing riddles but all off them were a dead end!

Since the Professor was a mathematician the only odd thing in his office was this poster and there was something odd written on it as well!

ANTIINSTITUTIONAL DISESTABLISHMENT

Where did the Professor hide his priceless work?

Did the Professor have any other secrets?

well i took what you said about snail+anti.... and i just simply deciphered the wording and i got...."Putting a stop to an unorganized snail/slow person" Am I on any sort of right track here???

No...

OK Here is what we have so far!

All you need is:

1. The fact that there's a snail on the poster!

2. ANTIINSTITUTIONAL

3. DISESTABLISHMENT

4. No math

5. No translating words to synonyms

6. No anagrams

7. Shell has something to do with it!

8. Apex has something to do with it!

9. No subtracting words

10. No adding words

So these are the things that you guessed or inquired and I answered! :)

well it seems that the X int he word apex is larger than the other letters, though now looking at it again i believe that i need some more coffee instead...

hmmm it seems i should have stuck with this train of thought, would have saved so much time!

... the apex kinda pointing in a direction were the treasure is hidden?

is the treasure hidden behind the apex of the shell, on the wall?

am i right??

it's the simple fact that the algorithm was the poster..?

No I already said that and it's no problem to repeat it again

- the poster is just a riddle and by solving that riddle you'll know exactly where to look!

:)

frustrated....think I know what to do...

I think.

Where to start, and how to spin it.

Hmmm... Dawg is onto something! ;)

No... check the first spoiler! :)

Only the wall is behind the poster!

Shell is not normally labeeled apex and in diagram the spiral faces toward the side not the back - probably unimportant

But am wondering if it has something to do with foot "What's a foot?" - Did the professor have a false leg, yep going out on a limb (literally) :D

The Lip of the shell is an unusual label ??

LIS I knew your answer is gonna be a bit out there. I like it... ;) But that's not what I'm looking for. :)

And check spoiler!

is the treasure on the professor himself? since the snail carries its shell everyone, all its possesions so to speak, then wouldn't the prof keep his treasure on him?

No...

the Professors remains are no longer in the office and I already said and confirmed that the treasure is in the office!

Nah...
he was an old fashioned guy... liked his paper and pen.
:)

Just a guess for direction...

Outside the box = snail is in the spoiler box = snail has nothing to do with it

or

box = snails shell ? outside the box ?

OK I'll give you an answer in the same fashion you posted your questions

Outside the box = methodology used to solve this riddle

Box = methodology used to construct this riddle

Seriously... this is a hint! ;)

HINTS! All that need and do not need to solve this riddle!

The facts that you need to solve this riddle!

  1. The treasure is IN the office
  2. The poster is the riddle
  3. The fact that there's a snail on the poster is important
  4. ANTIINSTITUTIONAL
  5. DISESTABLISHMENT
  6. Shell has something to do with it!
  7. Apex has something to do with it!

  1. No math
  2. No translating words to synonyms
  3. No anagrams
  4. No subtracting words
  5. No adding words
  6. No mixing words
  7. The treasure is not on the poster nor behind it!

I hope this will help! ;)

The professor perhaps worked in an institutional establishment, which suggests the puzzle has something to do with opposites. The snail's shell is anticlockwise, whereas a land snail usual has a clockwise shell. So maybe it is behind the clock. Or the mirror. Or opposite the poster. Oh, I dunno.

Am I close?

Hahaha... wrong logic, but the right answer!

It's one of those three!!!

HINT

It has nothing to do with opposites, because I could have written shorter words

;)

And another thing... I already said that the Professor was an old fashioned guy *words missing already posted in another spoiler*... ;)
