Try this puzzle on for size. Two chess players play a game of chess. They play a total of five games. Neither one of them won. There are no ties, how?

I completely understand the answer, but I think this in not worded as well as it could be.

"TWO chess players play A game of chess. THEY play a total fo five games"

The "A" is singular and would therefore indicate a single game of chess, meaning against each other. No?

Perhaps if it were worded "Two chess players play a total of five games. Neither one wins, there are no ties. How?"

By the way the statement is worded, I believe the only possible answer is that each player played a game of chess separately...and each lost all five games they played.

not nessecerely all, but they did lose......

Please put your ideas in a spoiler so you dont spoil  it for other people!

And welcome to the Den!!

Confucious 2nd - are you going to answer the guesses?

The puzzle doesn't fit your answer, as was pointed out. The 'play a game of chess' means that they play a single game, and therefore someone must have won that game (since there were no draws). A total of five games? Is that five games each? Neither of them won what? Any games at all? More games than the other chess player?

Waste of time.

Try this puzzle on for size. Two chess players play a game of chess. They play a total of five games. Neither one of them won. There are no ties, how?

You are correct
