I posted a topic today and my post was locked because somebody had already told that riddle. I was told to look it up before I posted, I did. I looked up icicle(the answer to the riddle) BEFORE I posted it and nothing came up. Maybe you guys can improve the searching box or something. Just a suggestion, cause it did it to me the other day too. It said there was and error and that there were no posts under this category. Hope you guys can fix this.

Since the search feature worked just fine for Martini, Frost and I, I'm betting you misspelled "icicle". Regardless, the folks who run this message board don't improve or design the software. If you have comments about software improvements or tweaks you should contact Invisionpower.

I gotta come to labs defense... When I opened the search page and typed icicle in the keyword box, only this topic came up. But when I clicked on search again and the little box opened (at a loss for how to refer to it, sorry), I typed icicle and all the oldies showed up.

Can someone coach lab, and me on how to use the search feature properly? Thanks

Edit: I think I answered my own question. I have a habit of opening links in a new tab, so the entire search page opens up. I can just click on search for the small box, and a much easier search. Correct?

You may have to uncheck the "seach this forum only" box, if one appears. Some puzzles or riddles won't be in the "New Puzzles" forum.

Also when searching for two or more keywords you have to put a plus sign in front of additional words like this "firstword +secondword" without the quotes, but with the space in between.

It did it to me twice, and with 2 different words. How can I contact the Invisionpower? I thought that would be your job. It doesn't matter, I'll just stop doing riddles I didn't make up myself. Thanks!!!

basically, Prof. Templeton explained how to search ... I confirm, that search problems you have experienced is not a flaw in Invisionpower software ... btw, almost everybody got their topics locked at the beginning and most of the members quickly learned to use the search feature correctly

Using the plus sign helps narrow down what you're searching for. For instance, if I'm looking for what thread you mentioned the above and I type in "Google always worked", I'll get seven pages of hits I may have to go through because the search engine will list every thread where any of those three words are used. But if I enter "Google +always +worked", I get only four threads to search through as the search engine lists threads where all three words are used.

Suppose I'm looking for the popular "One Girl - One Boy" thread. First, I'll try to remember key words that were used and come up with something like "girl +boy +probability". That combination will give me nine threads to search through (ten now that I mentioned those words here). Without the plus sign and those same three words, I'll get nine pages.

Regarding this issue, I would like to add, that it is more satisfying for one to create and post there own homeade riddle/puzzle, rather than to copy from other sites. This place already has the oldies. How about being creative and in a sense, diabolical, by posting a riddle/puzzle that you yourself can be proud of, that is according to the rules.

I will do just as the above once these games are done, and I have some more time. Peace.
