This is my very first riddle to post, so please bear with me, it might be easy, lame or whatever you want to call it..... Practice makes perfect....

A man is at the store waiting for his wife to call him. Shortly after that, he gets a call. Without even looking at his phone, he knew that it wasn't his wife.

How did he know?

his wife is working at the deli counter and he was waiting for her to call out his number.

in the store - his wife was supposed to 'call out' to him for a prticular reason - not worth going into coz its a Veutian thing

He worked at the store. The phone that rang was the store phone, and he was awaiting his wife's call on his cell phone.

He was waiting for his wife to call to let him know where she was at. he then saw her a few yards from him and got a call to his phone. It could not have been her since she was obviously not using her phone

... he pressed the button on his earphone and took the call. He noticed that it wasn't his wife. In the end, he said goodbye and pressed the button to hangup. He never looked at the phone, the whole time.

Actually, I prefer several of the answers I've read from others but, given that none of those is the desired answer, here goes a different approach.

She just left the store and hadn't had enough time to get home to the land line, he was too cheap to buy her a cell phone

After he is in the store waiting for a phone call, he gets called and knows its not his wife because he is at home with her

He didn't have to look at his phone, because it was the store's phone that was ringing... not his own.

There are soooo many answers to this one, we could not write them all, but here goes a few different tries

1. the ringtone was different.

2. he was waiting for her to vocally call, not over the phone.

3. He is no longer in the store, but with his wife

4. his wife was with him by the time the phone rang

5. the phone ringing was while he was on the phone with his wife

6. any number of answers

seriously v333k, if you still haven't found someone who can answer your brain teaser, then it is YOU who have not included enough information for it to be sloved, so rewrite and repost, or just tell the answer.

From where he was standing he could see his wife from afar, since he could see her not using her phone, he knew that the call was not from her

I felt it is an easy one because the normal sequence of events in my life is I either don't get any phone calls, or everyone CALLS WHEN I AM ALREADY ON THE PHONE !!!!!!!!!

The other famous scenario is, once you go in the shower, you come out and 4 or 5 missed calls !!!!!!

I was thinking of the "he could see her across the street" or something, but the divorce papers idea is inspired. I like that one. Probably needs rephrasing though
