0 Guest
What is the next ODD number in this sequence? 9, 3, 2, 7, 6, 1, 4, 4, 2, 6, ... Yeah, I'm back. The number is 1. If you look at the sequence, each number appended to the end of the sequence is formed by multiplying two consecutive numbers. The sequence starts with "9,3". 9*3=27. "9,3,2,7". 3*2=6. "9,3,2,7,6". 2*7=14. "9,3,2,7,6,1,4". 7*6=42. "9,3,7,6,1,4,4,2". 6*1 = 6. "9,3,7,6,1,4,4,2,6". Therefore, the next number will be 1*4=4, except it wants the next ODD number. So we take 4*4, which is 16. 1 is odd. The next odd number is 1. And it seems someone else got this before me, so I won't claim credit. --HighSchoolNerd Edited July 24, 2008 by HighSchoolNerd
