Sorry... been gone for a while. Yes, they all end up one letter each again. The answer is 8 letters long.

You forgot about the parentesis, I never said to ignore those. When the parentheses are typed in(not in a smiley) their function is for order of operations. However, if it is in a smiley, you subtract the actual parentheses.

- 2 * = - )) = b

Also, the multiplication is the only real challenging part to this, though there is a set definition for it, however it's not exactly like regular multiplication(which would be hard with words).

Just solve as much as you can without it, then try an figure out combinations that work to discover the pattern.

for K = BJ – D; you had me on this, I am not sure (lo)*(ne) – o = n or l or e until I further down discover other 2 doesn't work and decide to take K = n

so as N = (excl)*(angry) = enrgy

and P = blink * (o) = I
