0 Guest
Octopuppy, it may not have been what you were thinking but... Main Entry: aim Part of Speech: verb Definition: To move (a weapon or blow, for example) in the direction of someone or something. Synonyms: direct, head, level, point, set, train, turn, zero in, cast Source: Roget's II: The New Thesaurus, Third EditionThat's why I mentioned it, I had a suspicion there was a connection somewhere. Almost worth a point but I think the meanings are too similar, both being along the lines of "throw" and "direct", if you know what I mean. Tough call. Almost worth a point but I think the meanings are too similar, both being along the lines of "throw" and "direct", if you know what I mean. Tough call. You're right. I was going for the other definition of cast that means "look" but this is "look" as a noun not "look" as a verb being a synonym with "gaze".
