Question

Jack began to worry when he found out he had to play: A, B, C and D before he could move on in the competition. He was told he would not know the order until just before he was to begin, and that he would be playing them consecutively. He nervously looked around at his opponents as they received similar instructions, noting the condition and equipment of each player. Jacks friend saw his concern and told him not to worry about being the smallest player, that all his practice would pay off.

Does Jack move on?

What is he playing?

Where is he playing?

I'm thinking something musical, or else some sort of fighting competition...street fighter status.

Very good. there were three ??? though. It was musical(an instrument), he was at a recital competition, and he most likely moved on as he practised a lot.

Don't look here if you don't want to know the answer yet.

Is he playing a guitar? I don't know guitar chords, but maybe Jack has little hands and it's harder for him to reach? lol I don't know. And if it's a recital, it's not really a competition, so maybe he moves on to the next class?

Could Jack be playing in a chess tournament? And I'd guess that yes, he moved on since he has practiced a lot.
