Imagine you have 5 coins, 3 big coins(B) and 2 small coins (S). they are set out on a table like this

B-S-B-S-B

what you must do is move the coins so it looks like this

S-S-B-B-B

However you can only move a BIG coin and a SMALL coin which are NEXT to each other E.G

B-S-B-S-B these two

you cant twist the two coins around like this

B-S-B-S-B

B-S-B-S-B

they must remain as you fouds them. Example of an legal move

B-S-B-S-B

B-S-B_B-S

_ = tho space left by the movement of coins.

you can not move to coins which have a space between them they MUST BE NEXT TO EACH OTHER

this can be done in 5 moves

After reading GIJeff's, I realize you actually can do it in 3 moves, but instead of trying to squeeze two coins in between two other coins, try just switching coins around.
