because he lives in america, and he doesn't want to go to canada? But this answer doesn't hold up if you say the canadians came to america

:(. So then it's just more money. Cutting three people is more money than cutting 1.

That's obvious-3:1,of course he'll take more money.I think if this was the reason dannyboy should say 1 american and 1 canadian.I think the reason is other.Maybe for him is easier to cut the hair of 3 americans(they take more care),than to 1 canadian.Canada's climate is cold and probably the canadians doesn't cut thair hair so often.No offence,is for the puzzle.
