Sudoku Binary puzzle!

While I was relaxing on the sunny shores, a messenger brought me a letter from an eyeball giant who is apparently stuck on a sudoku puzzle. Since she has no eyestalks, she invariably sucks at math, being forced to use a binary system for calculus.

Here is the puzzle in question, a great eyeball giant with as many as 16 eyes!

OK I've worked on this for a while.

Convinced it has no solution.

BTW it's Hex, not binary.

Bonanova, as you say you believe it has no solution, I infer that you believe you know what the problem is! All I can tell is that there's a 16x16 grid (Thanks to your reformatting!). Perhaps it could be viewed as a 4x4 grid of 4x4 cells (without lines). I can't tell how it relates to Sudoku, which I think of as a 9x9 grid. What is your interpretation of the problem? At least I can learn from that :-)

Of course, we could see each hex digit as a 2x2 bit matrix, but I don't see that that helps, either...

The objective of this puzzle is to solve this hexadecimal sudoku. Instead of 1-9 digits in 9x9 grid it uses 0-F digits in 16x16 grid.

I'm wondering if the solution is unique. It will be interesting to see if another solution presents itself.
