Question

Mariel of Redwall Mafia:

Baddies:Wincon=majority, have Night Kill and BTSC

Gabool the Wild--King of the High Seas; being hidden in Fort Bladegirt, has the disguise of a random goodie and a vote manip

Graypatch--The most intelligent searat, has the ability to discover a person's role (role spy)

Riptung, Catseyes, Grimtooth--Being minions of Gabool, have no special actions (vanilla)

Goodies:Wincon=Eliminate Baddies

Dandin-- A true-hearted goodie, with the blood of Gonff and the sword of Martin, is an incredible opponent (has Nightkill)

Colonal Clary, Brigadier Thyme, Hon Rosie--Have BTSC, together have a block (role blocker)

Pakatugg--A forest squirrel, incredibly nimble and a master of disguise; therefore can easily spy-however, all baddies appear as 'filthy rats'(role spy)

Abbot Bernard--The honorable Abbot of Redwall Abbey, gets vote multiplier.

Saxtus--Incredibly knowledgeable, however is too young to do anything. If Bernard is lynched, takes his power.

Treerose--A pretty squirrelmaid, but not much more (vanilla)

Rufe Brush--A strong sqirrel, but doesn't wish to leave the Abbey, therefore, ineffective (vanilla)

Indy: Special Wincons

Mariel--Wincon: Kill Gabool + goodie win--Has sworn to kill Gabool, therefore has a spy action, but does not learn of any roles except that if it is Gabool or not.

Joseph--Wincon: Find Mariel+goodie win--Must find his lost daughter, whatever it takes. Has a spy action, but only tells whether it is Mariel or not.

Need some feedback on characters!

1. How does Mariel kill Gambol? I would suggest giving her a RID kill rather than a spy...

2. What you're giving Joseph is more a RID guess than a spy

3. It seems like too many baddies to me. I would sugges dropping 2 vanillas and giving the remaining one a role.

4. So does Pakatugg see all baddies the same? So more a faction spy?

5. Does the goodie block target a role or a player?

6. What are the constraints on the vote multiplier? There are many different options here, and they can affect the balance.

7. If I'm right that Pakatugg is just a faction spy, I would suggest adding a follow spy to the goodies on one of the current vanillas.

8. Is the indies winning with goodies a secondary wincon that is like bonus points on their wincon, is it an alternate, or must both be achieved. I would suggest it as bonus points or replacemet only if their RID target is lynched, and allow both a dead RID guess if their target is NKed

Saxtus--Incredibly knowledgeable, however is too young to do anything. If Bernard is lynched, takes his power.

Treerose--A pretty squirrelmaid, but not much more (vanilla)

Oak Tom--A chubby forest squirrel who know Mossflower in and out (role spy)

Indy: Special Wincons

Mariel--Wincon: Kill Gabool + goodie win--Has sworn to kill Gabool, therefore has a RID kill. If Gabool is lynched, part of the Wincon is complete, and if Goodies win then Mariel is considered goodie.

Joseph--Wincon: Find Mariel+goodie win--Must find his lost daughter, whatever it takes. Has a RID for Mariel. If found, then part of the Wincon is complete. If goodies win then he is considered goodie.

edited, but decided to drop only one baddie. It would look too much like HP Year 1. :P

Much better, but:

1. I would not give goodies both a role and a faction spy...

2. I would say max one vanilla per side; perhaps give one another power

3. An edit for the indies: once wincon is achieved they become vanilla goodies. That's just a wording change

4. Rufe would make a good save

5. Clarify Gabool's vote manip

Still keeping two vanilla baddies...

I think the indie wincons should be a lot harder than what you have them at. Also, for the squirrel, when he spies a goodie, he knows their role, and when he spies Graypatch or Riptung they just appear as baddies?

I would suggest, RE: mo's suggestion, splitting Gabool's 2 abilities between the vanilla baddies, and establishing an order for the abilities of the players killed by the goodie NK to go to the goodie vanillas--keeping each to only 1 ability.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. Are you saying that Gabool should have no abilities but give his two to the vanillas?

And I have no idea what you mean by the second part.

Sorry if you suddenly see a huge connection between my avatar and me :duh:

No, sorry, I was thinking of if Gambool dies, his abilities are split between the vanilla baddies.

For the second part, I was suggesting a mechanism for vanilla goodies to gain abilities. Basically, when the first player is killed by the goodie NK, a vanilla goodie receives the NKed role's ability. Repeat for each goodie NK thereafter (with a different vanilla goodie) until all livin goodies have abilities

Lol I'm on itech too...maybe for the goodie, let NK goodie pick a night when, along with his kill he submits that the ability of the killed (or one of the so far goodie killed abilities, randomly) be given to the vanilla goodie.

The bit in () means you'd make a list of all the abilities NKed by the goodie to that point and randomly select one.

*NK (or Nightkill) typically refers to the baddie group ability. If possessed by any other faction, it's typically called a kill.

I changed a few kill/lynch terms. And dropped some vanilla roles.

Just one thought, because Indies have slightly different wincons, they actually are part of different factions (until they join the goodies). So, if you can, please color them with green & purple so that it's easier to see the difference in WinCons. Thanks.

For the rest, what can I say ... you've received a lot of great feedback and it's been patched so that all factions benefit of inheriting abilities, no one will get bored playing this as a vanilla all the game

You still need to decide on an order of actions / preference : mainly if the NK must be carried / can be blocked (my personal preference will be unblockable group kill) and if the Indy RID Kill goes (is counted) before the goodie kill (which would make sense so that Dandin does not kill Gabool before Mariel).

And possibly get a mentor (ride-a-long) host just to keep all angles covered and have a backup in handy with you during the game ;)

Oh, and I went ahead and queued it in theGames to come.
