After much caculations:

21978?

21,978 x 4 = 87,912

A has to be 1 or 2, otherwise the product would be a 6 digit number, but multiples of 4 do not end in1 so A = 2.

E could be 3 or 8 now, but 2?,??? X 4 cannot = 3?,???, so E = 8.

B has to = 1,3,4,5,6,7, or 9, but only 1 will make the product be in the 80,000s.

D has to = 3,4,5,6,7, or 9, but only a number ending in 78 will yield a product ending in 12.

I found C through a matter of trial and error.

The first way is how maurice said - Find the blue button.

The second way is to write before your text:

[spoiler]

and then end the spoiler area with:

[/spoiler]

And it's always a good idea to check you post first using the Preview Post button (just right of the "Add Reply" button) otherwise you'll have at most 10 minutes to edit your post (after which it will remain for eternity).

thanks to all for your correct answers i.e 21978

since answer is 5 digits, so abcde ranges from 10000 to 24999. now the answer is edcba, hence a has to be an even no.(since we r multiplying with 4), so a=2, for a=2, e=3 or 8, but edcba>40000, hence e>=4, hence e=8,

now edcba is 80000 something, so abcde is from 20000 to 22499, so b=1 or 2, now e*4 gives a carry of 3, so we will have d as an odd no., so b=1, continuing this way we get ABCDE=21978
