Question

I earn twenty six grand but that's two too many.

I get cold without my coat so I try not to lose it.

My servant does all of my dirty work for me;

She's a little grim and hefty, which is just like her music.

Hm... what's up with all the musical instruments?

Well, 26-2 = 24, a multiple of 8, so I guess that portion of the riddle would fit with an instrument spanning three octaves. *shrug*

Maybe it's..The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy .

Good you see you again Darth....

Hey!

24K gold coating??

That's the closest so far - so now to look more closely at the second pair of lines

where the hero has a pair of gold-plated .45s

How do you get 45 from 26 and 2?

O.o

lol.

It's probably best to focus on the second pair of lines.

Hm... just got struck by deja vu. My bad if I already said that!

The .45s are doing the dirty work for the fancy 24K plating...or at least that was the idea :D

Well, I'll tell ya it ain't K (for one thing, K doesn't explain the 26 and why you gotta subtract 2)

gold

hopefully im on the right track when i say this...

chromium? since # 26 is iron and 2 less is atomic # 24 chromium its used in dyes and pigments hence coat. and i think the last bit definitely refers to heavy metal. (pun on music)

or could it just be metal alloy? just to be broad since if it 24k it refers to the purity of the metal and coats are important to alloys

Alright, well! You're inches away from the answer... you've pretty much got everything except you have to figure out what the entire servant thing is about.

because I'm telling you that it's not chromium
