0 DudleyDude
there is much more to this one than meets the eye. I've found a couple of "epic"s in the riddle. Still not sure though if that's the final answer or if there's some other clues hidden inside.
0 plainglazed
Odysseus? Hey Wilson, Nothing wrong at all about that answer. Quite close, just not right. Homeland security, or The War on Terror Very well written puzzle/riddle I must say. Good thoughts, was hoping this would last long enough to go down a different path or two. Not it though. And thanks for the compliment! lyric or monorhyme poem, riddle???Good day to you PG...........let me start out by the most obvious Aha, not so, so obvious. Not to me at least. An intelligent answer for sure but not what I'm after. there is much more to this one than meets the eye. I've found a couple of "epic"s in the riddle. Still not sure though if that's the final answer or if there's some other clues hidden inside. Yes indeed, that is the final answer. Well deduced DD. You said you found a couple. Am guessing that's two out of three direct play on words that describe the answer. Care to share? Anyone want to try and find the puzzle(s) within the riddle? If not, I will post my reasoning momentarily.
0 Guest
DD you are correct, but that would make this epic a tale of PG, himself...and he says that in the last line. But if it is the legend itself he wants, then it can only be concluded that the journey is that of the riddle itself: the tale= the guess conquer= to beat us (no correct guess) decries= tell us we are wrong in our guesses openly here instruction= no clues except for the riddle itself disguise= there are so many things happening in this riddle, we are left riddled Edited September 18, 2009 by Juskiknback

0 DudleyDude
Her prince each and every second decries [Her prince] [each and every second -> take every 2nd letter] -> hErPrInCe -> EPIC No end to this piece, puzzles disguise [no end to this -> remove the last letter], Piece -> Piec, [puzzles -> anagram] -> EPIC I'm still looking for the 3rd although I suspect it is in one of these lines: Original intentions to conquer and rise OR Behold the dangers, literal demise

You did catch the fact that riddles are alluded to within the riddle which was indeed sorta meant to confuse. Riddles were often part of epics especially ones of great journeys. Her prince each and every second decries [Her prince] [each and every second -> take every 2nd letter] -> hErPrInCe -> EPIC No end to this piece, puzzles disguise [no end to this -> remove the last letter], Piece -> Piec, [puzzles -> anagram] -> EPIC I'm still looking for the 3rd although I suspect it is in one of these lines: Original intentions to conquer and rise OR Behold the dangers, literal demise Spot on re the two PoWs you have above. Will say the third is not involved with the other two lines you mention. As long as you care to hunt, I'm game...

0 plainglazed
Treacherous journeys of intrigue, surprise=epic Wow Jkb, how did you ever find that? Am afraid I did not compose that intentionally. Will say that the letters to the answer are not themselves in the body of the riddle for the third play on words.
