C3- in your scenario of if you're a baddie, you started off saying you'd have to be NS then ended up saying you'd be the vote manip. Or were you saying "worse case scenario if you were ST"?
Also, as I've repeatedly explained, I was not suggesting mass outing D1. It is like what Molly said; you get a web of people who can trust each other and start working together. Additionally, if people leave the correct types of hints, only the goodies can narrow it down. Eg - if you narrowed yourself down to 2 goodies, the other goodie knows which one you are.
As for S7 outting herself, this is the exact scenario where it is helpful to the goodies, especially as losing her role is not disastrous. Day 1 info and a good day 1 lynch is so important for us.
As for how to give a good defense- the way you work out good strategy and good defenses is to read past mafias. Try reading ones from mafiamaniac as you'll see much better defenses there.

Ok, thinking of it another way. They can only kill one of us per night. We are all worried that once they know our role, we'll be so important they'll kill us off. But if we narrow people down, we can get our RID killer to kill one at night, and lynch one during the day w/ our vote manips, while they can only pick us off one each night. Even in 3 night cycles time, they have only killed 3 more of us. Do you want to make it double that, due to lynches? See, so info is in our favour. If they had a RID kill, they could double up on kills if they knew our roles. But the way it is, us gaining clear targets is so favourable that it outweighs the negatives. And by being subtle about it, not all info gets picked up. We can even save our vote manips or RID killer if we're so worried about losing them.
What gives the baddies their power is that they are the informed minority and they can work together and plan. The sooner we get informed and can plan (and know who to plan with), the better. I'm not saying we should all state our name, age and rank, but we have to start sharing info; not just sit around waiting to be picked off.

Ok, so: @Thalia, I'll assume that wasn't a hint then? I think we're talking about the same post(s).
@FB and others- No, I don't want anyone outting themself. What I was saying is if we read up on our characters, not only can we hint but also pick up on others hints especially if people claim our roles. Why else have people been saying they need to read the book, if not to give and pick up hints? See, once a few people know each other are good, they can trust each other and work together. Until then, the baddies have all the knowledge and all the advantage.
@curr3nt - trust in my methods. I'm only looking for info that'll help the goodies.
To others: Don't say too much/ out yourself. We are closer to getting the baddies now as we have a few bits of info. Any thing you can help with is good but nothing that gives away your role. There are other ways of doing it, like giving info that narrows you down and can't be backed out of later.
@mo - give me a reason why I should believe you over curr3nt. I want to believe you are on my side but it's looking like you might not be

I just can't believe the amount of people in this topic who have asked for an explanation when so many have already been given, and asked to be proven wrong when they have already been proven wrong. Can people not count up to 3?
One of the reasons it has to be consecutive is because we are looking for the MAXIMUM amount of people. Once you get above 518 people, the amount of inhabitants is equal to the amount of hairs, so there cannot be any more legal inhabitants of the town.

Also, if mo is cleaver, that gives our RID kill a target for tonight (one he otherwise won't have.) We can now use this lynch to ferret out crappy defences from the baddies.

Ofc they are looking for hints but how are the goodies supposed to work out who to target? How about the RID kill goes for Mo as Cleaver tonight, then.
What I am saying here is vote for whoever you want at the end of the day, but during the day, the normal practise is to hear from everyone. Sheesh, you've been playing mafia longer than me, haven't you? You know this. The more you go against info gathering, the more I think you are bad, curr3nt...

But how are the three people you mentioned supposed to know how to target their actions if we have no idea who the baddies are? Seriously? What do you think we should do? Moving your votes around and hearing from everyone is what you do on Day 1. This is how you ferret out the baddies. And there is a huge difference between outing yourself and giving pieces of info or hinting vaguely. You do it without announcing it. You put it into your posts so it sounds like normal conversation.

@FB - I was talking about the whole site. Reading up on your character so you can hint.
@curr3nt - People can use knowledge of their character to subtly hint. It's not like you have to say "HINT: [insert hint here]" You weave it in so that only those who are combing carefully will see it, so it doesn't matter . But I see what you mean about role limiting hint.
Why would I vote for mo when the only way he can hint any more is to straight out state his role? He has given info that we can look back on later and hold him to. Others have said nothing. We need to hear from everyone.

They have no reason. Nothing for you to defend. They are hoping you give bad hints so they can find the three goodies they need to kill for an easier win.
I don't know about mo but I am not a baddie. It is a normal practise for the goodies to D1 information gather. I don't know where everyone else is. How else do you think we are supposed to work out who the baddies are? By ESP? Talking is the only way! We don't have time to spy each night. By that time, the game is lost. I have given a few clues to my identity, and I really don't want to die tonight.
What about all these people who are lying low?

I was referring to when I asked if you had a partner, cos before you said youwere a goodie but some of us already know that.
Anyhow, I get what you're saying about not voting. You can help me get info and abstain at the end of the cycle if you want. Everything I think of to say I delete as I don't want to be killed tonight.
I don't care who the goodies are, I just want to figure out who the baddies are and the only way is to rule out the goodies.

Yes I see what you are saying but that's also the excuse I use whenever I'm a baddie (not wanting to narrow down roles for baddies.) I wasn't asking anyone to out themselves. I just think we need to give as much info as possible so we can narrow this down. Just re-reading your posts, I am leaning towards pressuring others for now.
So curr3nt, if you are good, help me pressure people as the goodies will lose if we don't get some info. We need people to make statements they can't back out of later, not out themselves. I have given hints. I can narrow mo down to one of two roles, going by what he has said.

@curr3nt - do you really think that not voting helps the goodies? We need to get off to a good start on day 1 by gathering as much info as possible. If we don't figure out a baddie on D1 or N2, we are stuffed. Also, what do you have to say for yourself?
Edit- I thought you had hinted at a certain role but you denied it so you'll be the next one I vote for after FB unless I see something that changes my mind...

Block can also stop the baddie spy.
That doesn't really explain or answer the question (blockING kill). And I'd like to hear from the host, hence the red type.

Can I just ask: what is the point of goodie block then? It blocks baddie block?
Also, why is NK so far down on the OOA if it can't be blocked and it's a blocking kill?

Curr3nt, if you believe mo is bad, chuck a vote on him. And goodie vote manips should use all their weight. The reason being: if 2 baddies are voting mo and flash vote off him, plus Nefarian votes x2, we end up with a tie. Okay, that means no lynch BUT if just one goodie has 2nd thoughts and moves off mo, we have left the lynch in baddie hands. So, just be aware of what could happen.
If Skulduggery is paying attention to this thread, and mo ends up bad, the goodies could very well end up winning. @Skul- read very carefully what ppl have said and the night post. If mo turns up bad, you should have a clear target for tonight.
After we see the result, we can plan better. With the OOA, if we lynch a baddie today, I think we can plan semi-openly.
