*pssst* When most of the mafia players play on MafiaManiac, the games going on there certainly do affect your signups.
This is why the mafia community that spans the two sites has the google doc timetable. The co-ordination that results helps everyone; hosts, players, and makes for a better game (less inactivity due to lengthy/early signups or due to too many games running at once.) Through trial and error, we've developed a system that works.

By the time, the away team had returned with the decorations, there was a whole crowd of very curious bystanders, jostling and pushing to see the most juiciest thing since last weeks production of Monkey Love: The Musical™
The crowd lifted MiKi up over their heads and for a moment, as she crowd surfed, she truly appreciated the view from an angle never realised. Running along after the group was a little boy. He saw a huge ring of keys drop from MiKi's pocket. "Oooooh, shiny!" he thought, as he picked them up and followed after. His mother saw what he had in his hand. "Huh? But.... But That could mean OnlyOneThing®. These are the keys to the jail cells, and MiKi is Jailor.Oh the Indignity of it all!" BoysMother pushed through the croud, trying in vain to gain the lynch mob's attention. Just as she reached the head of the pack, MiKi was thrown onto a big bonfire by the lynch mob. Just before MiKi died, you could hear her saying, in vain:
"Adhe idhar jayo, adhe udhar jayo, baki mere saath aao( half of you go this way, half go that way, rest of you follow me)"
Frantically, the villagers pulled MiKi out of the flames but it was too late. She was already dead
Some of the villagers turned away disgusted, while the other 95% watched with their jaws agape.They quickly picked up Jailor and threw him into the Ganges. As the sizzle died off, the villagers looked at each other, shrugged and started applauding. Unfortunately, there was no curtain call. On an up-note, Jailor was re-incarnated as a mathematician, and brought great insights to the field, such as 2+2=5.

@ nana- in a game with so many inactives, i don't think voting patterns are too reliable. See, I'm thinking the baddies block killed on the first night. And then self blocked on the 2nd night. So that would mean Cube is the block, but if cube is block, i'd think anyone could be the other baddies; i wouldn't narrow it down like you have.
If you narrow things down prematurely over some random voting pattern, you can end up getting off the trail of the real baddies. Best to keep an open mind.
I'm leaving my vote. I am in two minds whether to vote tol or cube but as it appears like a self block, i'm voting cube. Think about it: the block is basically useless except to block save (assuming spy is dead which may not be the case due to inactivity) so if the baddies killed someone who was unlikely to get saved, the block can be used as a clearing or framing tool; all for appearances rather than utility.

Haven't heard much from Cubie and what I have heard hasn't really settled my mind.

First, you definitely outed yourself. (Well, we assume.)
Second, the spy may have been inactive and not put an action in.
Third, the save may have saved Bong rather than Bong self saving.
I agree that yours are the more common conclusions but it is totally possible and even probable, going by the events of this mafia, that one or both of no. 2 and 3. are the case. Therefore, yes you did out all the power roles. What about if the baddies didn't analyse the post like we did? Maybe they hadn't realised any of this. But you laid it out on a platter for them. I can't help thinking WHY? would a goodie do that. It comes down to the same thing: you have a choice - you are either misguided/illogical or a baddie. Which would you rather? I just can't believe that you would make a mistake like that. But anything is possible.
As for list of etiquettes. Social norms are social norms; learned by observation. Social norm #1: Let the host be the boss of their own game. Norm #2: Don't out another player unless they are on the opposite faction.
Another tip: read into everything a few layers deep, then double the number of layers and repeat. When you locate the correct layer, go forward or back one.
Don't mind me, I was just frustrated in my last post. Just trying to figure out your motives. But I doubt a baddie would out the save, spy and claim the vote manip. Then again, that's WIFOM for you. But I don't see any real advantage, over all. Maybe for a day or 2 but it would all come crumbling down pretty soon.
So like you said, we are back where we started. I've pondered the fact that it only takes one baddie to powerplay the night actions. Maybe one of the low liers was playing inactive. Or maybe it's tolecnal, Bong or Cube.
Seeing as you are confirmed goodie (not really but I am treating you as if you are), and I know I am a vanilla goodie, our theories are the only ones I can trust. So what have you observed that I may not have? I seriously don't know where to start with this. I feel like voting for a replaced player is pointless as they must be the vanillas but yet, it only takes 1 baddie to powerplay and also I'm not getting any clear target from the people who were active from the start.

I learned not to jump the gun in a newbie game rather than a non newbie game.
The problem is, you put your foot in your mouth in HPY3 as a baddie, throughout the game, despite your team mates telling you to stop. So this is what bothers me; that you didn't learn. Anyone can make mistakes but when you keep doing the same thing after I've witnessed other people pointing it out, and when it affects your team, it's not right.
I think I explained my reasoning well. Slick's appearing to claim a power role and then never explaining what he really meant or why he did it, that still boggles my mind. Yep, that's what Slick does; he boggles the mind.
I would have not claimed a power if I were vanilla, and even if I did (to draw baddie attention?) I would def have explained that if I drew unwanted goodie attention instead. Instead, he tried to intimidate me, which just made me even more convinced. I was wrong, I would probably do better playing with Vulcans. OR thinking further than the first conclusion you come to. Also, life would be boring if we were all the same. So, the interesting thing about this game is learning how others think and being able to read them based on this, rather than basing it on "logic" which you'll find many players don't subscribe to! But I am learning, humans are illogical.
What is "illogical" is outing every single one of the power roles on Day 1. Are you serious?! You asked the goodies if you should and I didn't hear anyone answering you (in fact, even the baddies didn't
) . So why on earth did you do it? It's bad enough that you outed yourself, we need the vote manip at end game. But how dare you out other people? That is their choice to make. That is so arrogant!I have no idea who to vote. Aura is a suspect for me because I still think her defend of Slick was illogical.
No, I just know how to read people's posts carefully. I don't run with the first interpretation I come across and quit thinking after that. Your problem is you are SO sure of what you believe that you don't think things through. One erroneous conclusion sends you on a path down a whole string of theories.
When I read his post, my innate interpretation, without consciously thinking, was that he was talking about his character (not ability) Then I read through to your post saying he couldn't be a power role, and went back and re-read his post. This is where knowing Slick comes into things. Knowing him, I could see that if he wasn't a power role, which he still could have been, he was probably just trying to say he was a goodie but not being too articulate about it. I've only played a couple of games with him. You have the same chance to do what I've done and read past mafias, learning the game and the players.
I'm going to stop here cos there's too much more I want to say. (e.g - the amount of times I have witnessed you attempting to speak for the host or take over the thread, not just this game but others. The hosts don't require your help.) You outed all the power roles in this game, and as a ghost in HPY3 you attempted to out the lynched role 15 minutes after day ended. Idc if later on Shadow said she didn't mind. I can promise you most other hosts (and players) would have been extremely incensed and mortified (and plenty were.)
You're obviously extremely intelligent but your mind is blocking you from seeing what's going on, and I can promise you, is alienating people. There are certain mafia ettiquettes and social norms that we go by as a community, and perhaps you should take a step back and observe these.

, I thought I should highlight note 3. as if you out your role or use a strong hint, there will be consequences. PM us in your role thread if you are unsure about your hint We are considering a ODTG RID kill (once during the game Role Identification Kill), carried out by the baddies so please be careful. Don't let things get ridiculous

@Nana7 - now that Slick turned up good, that puts your whole "slick, aura & tolecnal are baddies" theory up the creek. Seriously.... What Slick said about you rushing in full thrust is so true. And OOC - I would suggest you not host until you get the hang of playing.
Unless of course you are a baddie. In which case, all your posts were just bs baddie talk (and I retract my last statement.) But even then, you didn't think ahead to what would happen once Slick got cleared, implicating you as decidedly bad. And probably implying that you have put blame on those not in your btsc.
I mean seriously? Vote me on day 2? Why?!?!? Because km was inactive (as I replaced him, he was inactive not lying low)? Because I voted for Slick WHO TURNED UP GOOD! You were SO sure that he was bad, that you didn't consider how it would look if he's good.
I actually believed you outting yourself. (Although, that was a stupid thing to do due to your actions NOT exposing Slick as bad, which was your stated motive.) But let me tell you this: outing yourself doesn't make you good. A baddie could just as easily claim a role in order to draw out a counterclaim from the real vote manip. This would be a gamechanging strategy if it worked.
So in conclusion, I'm not saying your bad. I just have a little more doubt than before, due to what you did with Slick. But I don't go off half cocked exclaiming the certain truths of my suspicions. So, if you're good, pls be a bit more careful. If you're bad, I'm on to you.

Added Slick's vote. As kristmarks's mentor, I am replacing him due to the mafia policy on inactivity (
) @ Slick - please remove your vote from me as it is not my fault he was 100% inactive. My night role is vanilla but during the day, the goodies need all the votes they can get. So as I'm highly active, it's not a good idea to lynch me.I am a bit sceptical of this bandwagon on Slick and I'll tell you why: I did not pick up from his post that he was claiming a power role. I picked it up as his character was important. I.e - as a hint to his role rather than his night action. Anyhow, I don't feel right about voting him even though he is in the lead and my vote is useless elsewhere.
I am voting for Petrus as he has been inactive and he has played this game before, so he knows better than to do that. So the conclusion I am forced to come to is that he is deliberately lying low. And if he does turn out to be a goodie, he isn't contributing a vote anyway. Better to get rid of a possible baddie/inactive goodie than an active goodie. And my gut feeling is telling me that Slick and tolecnal are not baddies. That opinion may change as the game progresses but atm, that's where I'm at.

I'm the same with people interrupting me. I hate it when I wait for another gap and start my sentence again, and get interrupted again! Especially cos it takes a second to remember what I was saying. I also have the weakness of intolerance of n00bs. I know it's wrong but it's a weak spot of mine. Luckily the people on this site are pretty intelligent so instead, I feel like the n00b. So welcome to this site; I hope you stick around. And you should check out this game we play, mafia. Links to explanations are in my signature.
