  1. @ Aki - he knows I was killed N2. He's saying no action appeared in the night post for me. As trap is at the head of the OOA, and NK is non blocking (I think!?!), the trap should've gone through. However, I trapped Nana7 who died so it didn't appear.

@KM- I think you meant to say "Aura didn't appear to submit an action." I trapped nana as I was trying to confirm her guilt. If I could confirm that, I could trace it back and implicate Yodell as a baddie too (due to the links between them and due to nana's posts.) This game is the most goodie-like I have seen you act as a baddie (and probably as a goodie, even.) Confirming Medji's claim was probably the mistake you made. Earlier you publicly doubted his claim and him. You could've pointed to that later and said you were PG but that was your way of ccing Medji. And you didn't outright cc him as u hoped the baddies would waste a NK on you. But some later post you made took that option away. I was actually cheering you on, then I realised I was a goodie :duh: But I just wanted to say you did impressive.

@Nana7 - It's not the amount of posts, it's what you said. You can say you can't be someone you're not but you have a duty to your team mates not to bring heat on them :P. As you can see, I also post a lot. That isn't a problem once you play a few games and realise the "tells" that give yourself away. It is obvious from the puzzle threads how intelligent you are and once you get a few games under your belt, I'm kinda worried how good you'll get.

@Yodell - what got in your way was getting blocked N1. Without that, I reckon you would have got away with your goodie act. I still didn't "know" you were bad. I almost trapped you, not to block a baddie action, but to find out if you were bad or good. So you must've said something to sway me into not being sure. Why didn't you believe me that I was Draco and didn't get a spy on nana? *cries* *no one ever believes me* *waaaaah* Aki didn't submit a suit of cards in time so had a 0% chance to spy N1 (no roll took place.)

  2. As Klue said, we will start after TMM V reaches N2. Seeing as TMM is about to begin (roles are out etc.), by the time this fills up, it will be time to begin.

So, go ahead and sign up! With only 6 places left, positions could fill fast, once word gets out...

  3. DISCLAIMER: Please remember that there are secret abilities in this game. While I won't answer direct questions about secret abilities... Okay, so what are these secret abilities? Which characters have them? Do I get some too? and why not, you're no fair.

The numbers on the board are just standard hex notation (the way a standard plane uses x- and y-axis). I built the map away from 0,0 so it's a bit confusing. I'm looking to redraw it before the game (and hopefully just number the spaces 1-?)

Why do you have such a fascination w/ Hex? I was thinking of using hex-encoded riddles in a mafia design, or even better, base 64

    1. Part of every action is luck, but it won't be entirely luck. It will act as a typical spy, though, in that you will choose a target (player X) and if that target is within your range, you learn his role/faction/whatever. As for location feedback: Not really. A lot of that will come down to gaining BTSC with the rest of your faction. Yeah but if my range is 0, that doesn't leave much leeway. I have to be right on top of them to spy.

If I made a mid-phase cycle for movement, I could PM a list of who (player) is within your current range. I could allow movements to be PM'd during the day phase. At the end of the day, I could send that list... This makes me happy, like this ~~~> :D

There are lynch sequences, but they aren't called lynch sequences. There's a kill sequence with parameters that the initiator can include which will reveal (or not) the faction or identity (or both) of the killed player. Wow, don't I feel stupid right about now.:lol::lol:

  4. @YoDell - sorry if I misconstrued your tone of voice; it was just the. ... and the capital letters that led me to read it as sarcastic. Yeah, I see that you got the hint, I acknowledged that to you by the way I answered your qu. About the reading deeper, one reason for posts can be to gauge the reaction. Baddies will often give themselves away by how they react, even not reacting can be a giveaway.

@Klue - Just for arguments sake, if I were Snape (which I'm not), I wouldn't go for Miki as she could be good. I would go for someone who has acted suspicious and had time to defend. That way, if they turn up good, you can put the blame on their shoulders. I wouldn't want to make a mistake, though, as losing a goodie would ruin us much more than not killing off a baddie. At this point, I would crunch the numbers and if possible, I wouldn't act unless we almost "had to" kill a baddie tonight. I don't think Snape should kill Yodell until we are a bit more sure about her innocence or guilt.

What did you mean scummy? Were you referring to me saying I can't see a disincentive for PG outing, or something about the block and trap. You wouldn't start throwing BS suspicion on me would you? Cos that would be giving your baddieness away and I doubt you'd be that obvious. Nah, I still believe you're good, for now.

@nana7 - Yes, the goodie block is dead but I was referring to the baddie block; although it's target is a goodie, it is still a public spy, and if the baddie block target was trapped, it would mean only one public spy instead of two.

  5. Although if she's bad and we can confirm it, then who cares if she can't talk?

I hope the block and trap don't target the same person as that would be a waste.

Do we know who Pettigrew is? Because he is immune from NK so I don't see any disincentive for outing. (Forgive me if I missed the post that said who PG is.)

  6. Oh, I forgot to say: I don't know if Anon truly agrees with me or is jumping on my suspicions and running with it, to strengthen suspicion on others, hence not himself. I hope you are being honest with me, Anon. I need to be able to trust your good intuitions. Just that after that game where we were baddies together, I know how cunning you are with your "theories", mark my words, MARK IT!

  7. Aura .. its NIGHT TIME - till Monday 10 PM EDT - we cannot lynch anyone .. yet ....

PS.. did you/Aki get any info from your action last night ?

 Yes, I'm aware it's night cycle. I take offence at what you said, which insults my intelligence, and the way you said it, which was rude. I said in my first post that I would be back in a bit after I'd read the thread, to give my impression on things, due to replacing Aki. That was why I went through and listed off what I thought. I didn't mean lynch now.

Also, by now you should have learned not to take posts at face value. You need to look deeper. There are reasons for everything people post; the meaning for things is sometimes a few layers removed. I could explain further but I don't know if you're on my team so I don't want to give away my secrets.

As for my action, all info I have is available to all in the night post; I didn't receive anything extra.

aura, am I reading too much or did you really try to throw me off your scent in your post? ;):P

I didn't throw you off my scent. Everything I said was true. Yes, I hinted, if that's what you mean :D OOC: I am so glad we're getting along. See? I told you the "tiffs" were over.

@aura Like I said before, I was busy with a project at home, so I didn't really have enough time to do more than catch up on the posts every now and then. Hopefully I'll have some more free time from now on.

It's okay. I was just stating that I'd observed you lying low. I didn't place any meaning on it and I fully accept your reason :)

Also I wrote a post before that "Nana 7 is strucking me as odd"

I didnt want to elaborate it then, but my reason were the very same Aura pointed out.

Firstly I thought that one from Yodell and Nana is Hermione.

Now as Nana is defending Yodell, I think they both are baddies.

I am getting the exact same read on them. So either they are bad, or one of them is bad and the other doesn't realise and is defending them, or they are acting like this due to inexperience. It's just that I have a lot of respect for nana7's puzzle solving abilities on this site so I wouldn't expect her to make blanket statements that are slightly wrong logically. But then again, perhaps she isn't up on all the nuances of mafia quite yet. KM knows that if I see something that I (maybe wrongly) perceive as faulty logic, I assume they are a baddie. It may not be the case.
  8. Nana7 and YoDell are giving off scum tells left right and centre. And that's excluding the fact that they were both blocked/trapped on N1. Believe me, I know the old baddie strategy of witholding the block. They don't usually withold the spy though... And it doesn't make any sense to say they don't need the spy as they know who the goodies are and they don't have a RID kill. Yeah they give the baddies a spy just for decoration... See, faulty logic like that makes me get even more suspicious than I was before.

Also, nana7 said both her and YoDell have given solid defences. Excuse me? There was nothing solid about either of your defenses. Maybe it is cos nana is new to mafia, but I have to assume she is bad. I've seen how quick she solves puzzles on this site and I don't believe this faulty logic she is exhibiting, not even for a second!

I hate to be draconian about it but we really should focus on lynching yodell or nana. They have had plenty of time to come up with a proper defence. I might not be getting your hints, nana, cos all I picked up was homonyms which equals Hermoine! And I doubt that was your hint

Klue and Anon don't seem to be acting baddie, but they could be pulling the wool over my eyes... Miki was talking a lot on N1 but has laid low since then. Medji's behaviour seems suspect to me but nana reckons he hinted. I don't know anything about Harry Potter so I don't get this "hand" hint

The rest of you, I have no read on, and you guys should start participating more or you look suspicious for flying under the radar. Okay, I've said my piece, now please don't NK me! *begs on bended knee*

Oh, and Anon is the indy, mark my words. MARK IT!!! (jk, just our little joke between friends.). .....(but seriously Anon, mark it and heed it for good measure!)

I didn't see you MARK IT! anon...... I'm watching you.....

  9. Actually, the interaction between Zweefer and Akriti, specifically both of them jumping up and down to defend each other, is making me think that they're both bad, and that Yodell is actually being framed by one or both of them...it is true that I didn't look at the order of operations, and yes, Yodell is cleared of being Sirius simply because of the fact that his redirect actually did happen. So on that hand, I don't think Yodell is Sirius. On the other hand, Zweefer still has my panties in a bunch, and even more now, plus Akriti has her head out there on the chopping block even more firmly than before.

Yes, Aki can act in ways to draw suspicion to herself even when (especially when) she's good. Just forget everything she said as it was likely based on her gut feelings, not anything substantial. But I can't help noticing that you jumped to Yodell's defense and suspected Aki (me) and Zweefer. Zweefer was proven good, I'm good, Yodell appears bad. So how does that make you look?

Regarding Akriti, well I always suspect her in every game, and so I do not see anything different this time around either. Also, she may be replaced by Aura, and then we may have our usual tiffs :P

I know what you mean about Aki. Well, I am here to say that she is good. As I am taking over her role. I doubt we will have any tiffs; we're over that now. And you appear, at first glance to be on the same side as me, so unless one of us says smth totally illogical, I doubt we'll clash :D

ok, one thing is clear: akriti trust zweefer for some reason and is against medji. this is based on the recent search I made for "zweefer".

so either, akriti is trelawny who saw that zweefer is a goodie and medji is a baddie; or akriti is a baddie and thus referred to herself and zweefer as "we". though, I am always biased when it comes to her, so for now all I can conclude is akriti and zweefer are on the same side and medji is on the opposite side...

As far as I can see, from reading Aki's role thread, she (nor I) had no inside info on Zweefer, so it was either gut feeling or based on things in the thread or night post. If you look at Medji's post, quoted at the start of this post, with the assumption that Zweefer and I being good, it appears that he is bad and defending YoDell. That stuck out to me like a sore thumb, and you know what they say about backups coming in with a clearer picture of things as they're seeing it from the outside perspective...

I will read through the thread more comprehensively and get back to you all w/ my take on things later.

  10. Flask 6 & 7 must have 3 and 1 as they can't have 2+2 or 4+0.

Flask 7 & 8 have 12 so since one flask can't have more than 9, flask 7 must have 3 and flask 8 has 9.

    Since flask 7 has 3, flask 6 has 1.

And you can work out the rest from there...

  11. Run outside to the bin where the walkie talkie is but do it quietly so the shopkeeper doesn't notice. Hopefully you will run into a policeman's arms on the other side of the door...

If there's no police and the walkie talkie is dead, check for any signs the walkie talkie has been traced or the message retrieved, then go back inside and investigate again.

Or hang on, go meet your friend cos she wanted to meet you to tell you something where your dads wouldn't hear.

This could all be a setup just to give you practice solving a crime.

  12. @Aura

Then the answer to my first question should be that leader mentions a role as his successor. Right?

I don't know. I would assume you're correct, especially as others may not be in the BTSC yet. But Molly will explain.

Something tells me a mafia this complex might not gel with BD players. Quick, get the MMers over here! This is borderline too complex for me (but in mafia, nothing is impossible, i.e - I will forge ahead and make myself follow the plot!)

  13. @Klue - you are confusing RID guess with recruiting. RID guess works separately, doesn't affect the recruit percentage and doesn't require LOS. Only abilities that need LOS are those specified in the RDs.

I have the same qu as Klue about movements. Eg- a spy needs to be on the same hex as their target. (The ones who have it as a role ability, not those starting spy sequences.) How is the spy supposed to work out what spot to move to? They would have to move and then take a lucky guess as to who might or might not be on their spot? Can they just move and then spy on whoever is on their spot? Do we get any feedback as to where people are during the game, or their starting hexes? It just seems like many actions are doomed to fail.

Also, when a successful recruit is done. Is 25% taken from both the recruitER and the recruitEE? And does that mean an Indy can be recruited more than once i.e betray?

    More QUs to come later...
