I dont think anyone will ever be able to do it. It is impossible to create a device that can go faster than time. However, my idea is that assuming there was a device that did that (which is impossible) it is possible.

you are right, fab. My bad. first MEANS If 1, then S is disproven because it was the only change from MEANT (T->S) and the score didnt change so the point is not T or S. Then my other proof works. If 0, then T is last, because the only change was T->S and the score went down one. However, this is impossible because the first three words ended in T and were all 0.

MEALS T cannot be the last letter, because SHOOT was 0. For MEANT and GIANT the only two letters in common were 3rd A and 4th N. If 0, then N is fourth, because the only change (not including the T->S, which is already disproven) from MEANT to MEALS was N->L, meaning that N has to be fourth. If 1, then A is third, because the only change from MEANT to MEALS (not including T->S) was N->L. As shown below: MEANT MEALS If it has been striked, it was disproven before. Now, since the only change was N-> L and the score dropped, A has to be the right letter.
