my wife is in grad school, and whenever she takes a break from studying, one of our cats always comes and falls asleep on her notes... so she has to wake them up in order to get back to work

i have a cat that does that too...and another that only wants attention whenever you are reading, then she puts herself right between you and the book...

Nice riddle. Sports riddles are always fun for me . settle the score was the main title and part of the second line, but then I changed the second line to 'even the score' to make sure the tie reference was solid enough...either way you hit the hockey reference first, which seemed to be the hard part to me

Yay! tie hockey game is what i had in mind... this can't happen in the playoffs, they just keep playing until someone wins in sudden death overtime, but in general a tie game hurts your chances for winning the cup as it doesn't really put you ahead of the other team as far as playoff potential... the whole thing was a little abstract, but with even the score, and the ice reference it fit i think... good job PG! Edit...heh I missed the four on four reference PG, which is how the overtime in a non playoff game is played, for anyone who doesn't know hockey
