  1. I help out at the zoo that polar bears and cubs, I just want to help clarify about the color of the hair. Their hair is clear and hollow but it is translucent more than transparent. You can see through one strand of fur simply, but looking at the entire coat at once, it appears white. Think about a clear fast food straws; hold it so you are not looking through the center, but at the side. You can see the person or an object across the table. Now hold a large handful and they are now overlapping. All you see now is a lot of white fuzz. Also the skin color is black. That helps absorb the sun's energy for warmth along with their 4 inches of blubber. They are amazing mammals that really adapted for their environment. If anyone wants to know more, I will be more than happy to help!

  2. I also didn't like the last question - "Which car is bigger, the one in foreground or background?" In a previous question we determined that it was the same car. Therefore the car in the foreground is the yellow van with the cool paint job. The cars in the background are the ones parked to the left. That yellow van is the biggest, being the car in the foreground. But I got this wrong somehow...

  3. I think that the man was standing on the South Pole and the bear (I know there are no bears at the South Pole but they are not at the North Pole either) was any distance from there. When the man turns and runs, he will run north no matter what. Then when he turns to shoot the bear he will shoot south no matter what (the only assumption is that they will run in opposite directions, I would.) and will have to travel south to get his bounty. Since, I'm not a Rhodes Scholer I feel there must be something else but then if I knew so much Iguess I would have been rich. "As Usual, Just Thinking"

  7. Bear - Back to the Einstein's Riddles The famous physicist allegedly made this riddle for his scholars. A fellow encountered a bear in a wasteland. There was nobody else there. Both were frightened and ran away. Fellow to the north, bear to the west. Suddenly the fellow stopped, aimed his gun to the south and shot the bear. What colour was the bear? If you don't know, this may help you: if the bear ran about 3.14 times faster than the fellow (still westwards), the fellow could have shot straight in front of him, however for the booty he would have to go to the south. 9. Three couples bought candy at a candy store. Each person paid as many cents per candy as pieces of candy he or she bought, and everyone bought a different number of pieces (no one was empty handed.) When they compared their bills, they found that the difference between the amounts paid by each husband and wife was the same. What is the smallest number of candies purchased? Show the amounts for the difference and for each person/couple. What if there were two couples? Four couples? Five couples? Can a method be extended for M couples? If the difference between each husband's and wife's amount is less than 500 cents, what was the largest number of couples possible in the store?
