I was born of riches high,
Born below the heavens I.
My happy home was all I knew,
Until my master greedy slew.
My voice was golden, vibrant, clear,
I sang a song in captive fear.
Tendons taught with unarmed might,
I set the good and bad in flight.
Up or down I have no kin,
But I was last to feed the sin.
