Question

Look at the following scoreline:

If Rafa beats Roger

6-4 , 2-6, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4,

it is plain to see that Roger won more games, but still lost the match

G(X) = Games won by X

P(X) = points scored by X

In the context of the next game between Rafa and Roger at the men's final at Wimbledon which Roger wins, answer the following

1) What is the largest possible value of G(Rafa)-G(Roger)

2) What is the largest possible value of P(Rafa)-P(Roger)

3) What are the answers to 1 and 2 if there were no tie-breakers?

Bonus: There are two scores in Tennis that identical to each other in all ways except the way they are called. This is to say that, psychology apart, no tennis player would prefer one score over the other. Identify these scores.

Cheers!

My fault ! Misread the question. :)

1. 9(Roger won 3 sets in tiebreakers , i.e.,7-6 and Rafa blanked Roger in the remaining 2)

2. ??

3. (a)6(Roger[6-4] in 3 sets and Rafa blanked Roger in the remaining 2)

(b)??

BONUS: Maybe advantage and break point.

Hey ! Nobody's trying except Aka and me . Looks like a dearth of tennis fans in addition to cricket. :P

Part 3 is correct, but part 1 is not. How come??

And Part 2 is basically, points won by each player. What is the max value for (Rafa's total points scored- Rogers total points scored) if Roger won?

The Bonus is not correct as advantages are break points depending on whose advantage it is. Also, break point is not a score :)
