P.S: answer is easy, relation is hard it's another answer all together... This and "I'm not a scholar" are the only riddles I've been pondering lately. This one is maddening... every guess I get is always shot down by one or two or more likely three lines somewhere else in the riddle. Could you explain what a "flouncer" is? When I see that word I think of either a person who fails at his endeavors, or a person who walks funny (and when I saw "slinky" I thought it mean either "kinky" in the sexual way or, again, walking funny. I just looked it up and it means stealthy. My head is failing me) Date? 1) It's a want - the desire to have a date 2) A date is a small set of numbers, like "9/9/2009," but it can represent an important and large day of your life. 3) If "ball" means a formal party, then you would take a date to it 4) The roots to a date palm can be used for medicinal purposes 5) If you have a nice date to the prom, you'd be happy, and proud 6) Needing your nose - either hormones, or your date literally smells nice, or you brought roses that smell nice 7) If "flouncer" means something along the lines of "loser," then forgetting an important calendar date or being dumped by a romantic date can both land you in a humiliating spot

0 Guest
Never! It's just bleeding hard If I just disregard the trickier lines (like one is big and seems small, the other is small and seems big), the things that come to mind are beer and arrogance! (both make you walk weird, root beer, you can smell beer, you can't smell rich ppl 'cause they never get dirty) But... this is just a crazy dang riddle. Flutes, caused by a ball, switching between them to taunt, needing a nose - all wtf? Which I guess just means it's a really great riddle =P Also, one of them might be attitude, mebbe?
0 EDM
well.........one of the answers might have something related to attitude........but it sure isn't beer and arrogance!! hint: read the last 10 posts and the riddle again.....you might get an idea Edited August 10, 2009 by EDM

0 Guest
I'm thinking one has to be a wind instrument of some sort: Needing flutes - maybe flutes can back up this other instrument well Need nose - to breathe out while you're blowing on the instrument, sweet refering to sweet sound Both flounce - music makes you dance Caused by ball - maybe it's a common instrument at balls Small but seems big, or vice versa - big instrument that sounds small, or vice versa I love music, but wind instruments aren't my strong point... Horn? Makes no sense Trumpet, trump it? Nonsense Clarinet, net? Nonsense The other object, whatever it is, is stinky, is "being roots," and makes you flounce. Haha, that description makes me think of shrooms. Or maybe another drug, like weed, with so many nick-names it could very well have a similar name to some instrument Whistle... sax... maybe sax/sex? Sex is root to life, can be smelly, makes you flounce, and makes you proud. But it seems like a stretch...
Question
EDM
One is a need, one is a want
You could switch between them to taunt
One is big, seems small
The other, vice versa; maybe caused by a ball
One being roots
While one maybe wanting flutes
If it's a special day, you stand in front of the mirror
And Pride yourself in having one or both (without a shiver)
Both need a nose; sweet or stinky
And maybe like the lizard, one needs to be slinky
Both might make you a big time flouncer
Now solve it and find relation between title and answer.
P.S: answer is easy, relation is hard
it's another answer all together...
