I have recently written up a Mafia game based loosely on Orson Scott Card's sci-fi novels, Ender's Game, et al.
The game involves 9 goodies, 4 baddies, and 1 indie.
I have decided to make sign-ups somewhat selective and prefer only seasoned Mafia players. I chose to do the sign-ups like this because I am rather disappointed in the high number of inactives and general "noob-ness" in the last few Mafia games. I thoroughly enjoyed co-hosting the Matrix II because everyone involved played at a highly competitive and intellectual level - which is what makes Mafia so addicting.
Therefore, please only sign-up if you have played 3 or more Mafia games (NO FIRST TIMERS) and can dedicate the time necessary to play well. Inactives WILL NOT be tolerated; one warning and then you're replaced - no reduction in abilities, etc. I won't be holding players to a post minimum because I believe in quality over quantity and there are times where silence is an effective strategy. But rest assured, I will know if you are biting your tongue or if you are just not participating. There are a few new-comers who I feel did very well in the last couple games I watched and those players are welcome to join: Underground_Dan, Clozobozo, Abhisk and Magic_Luver, among others.
Ender's Game Mafia has your usual kill, save, block, spy, kidnap, redirect, vote manipulation, and RNG night actions with each player also having a one-time secret action available. Nothing too crazy, a few surprises, and based mainly on the cunning wit of each player involved.
Buggers (Bad Guys) - Have BTSC - Win by killing all Humans and the Descolada
Hive Queen - Can RID kill each night
Drone #1 - Night Spy
Drone #2 - Night Block
Drone #3 - Vote Manipulation (Can change another player’s vote by PM’ing host. Vote change will not be posted.)
Ender’s Jeesh (Good Guys) - Some BTSC - Win by being last faction standing
Ender - Can kill each night
Peter - Can choose to make vote count x2, x1 or x0 each day and can end the lynch early once
Bean - Has BTSC with Petra - Night Spy (If Bugger, it will only reveal “Bugger” not “Queen/Drone”)
Petra - Has BTSC with Bean - Night Save
Virlomi - Night Redirect (Make “A” target “C” instead of “x”)
Crazy Tom - Night Kidnap (player cannot act or be targeted). If Ender dies, takes over Kill role (knows who Ender is)
Carn Carby - Night Block
Dink Meeker - Every Other Night Shield (removes all targets on a chosen player. Player can still act.)
Col. Graff - Rolls a die for Night Action. 1 - Spy, 2 - Save, 3 - Redirect, 4 - Kidnap, 5 - Block, 6 - Vote manipulation (choose either x2 or cancel another players vote) Can gain BTSC with Ender by targeting him.
Descolada Virus (Independent) - Win by: Last Man Standing
Descolada Virus - Night 1: Picks a player to infect, gains his/her ability. Player is NOT notified or affected. (If Ender is chosen, redirect to random player.) Can use ability that night or save for later. When ability is used that player will DIE.
Night 2+: Same as above, but must RID player to infect.
