Counterclockwise, round I go,

Interrupt the ebb and flow.

The ugly Royal, short and sweet,

In the midst, swept off his feet.

a reversed fary tale! when I think of conterclockwise, I think of reversed. Usually, The handsome prince sweeps the damsel in destress of her feet, but now it's oppisite!

Wow, I didn't think of that. But, no, this one is supposed to stay ugly (or many people think, anyway).

"swept off his feet" would certainly imply a tornado or water spout as opposed to going down the drain. But I can't think of anything involving an ugly prince getting sucked into a tornado...

You're SO close, I'm looking for a particular ugly prince, which isn't needed to solve the riddle, but if you know it, it will reinforce it. But, remember "Short and Sweet."
