Question

I had the most exciting day! rather than telling you what happened, I came up with this riddle. I'll give credit to the person who figures out the pop culture answer the riddle is asking for, and to the person who can figure out what made my day so exiting.

Bright red lips and cheeks to match,

I hope the audience thinks I'm a catch!

My hair is coiled in a tight bun,

even though this was all just for fun.

Hair and dress are all perfectly planed,

from the very begining till we bow hand in hand.

I look around familiar friends,

and hope that this day never ends.

We suck in our gut and put on a smile,

hoping the audience loves us all the while.

We do our thing, there is a long pause,

then suddenly everyone breaks into applause!

They think that it's over, but we rush off the stage,

because we have to do a quick change.

So quick, in fact, that while they're still claping,

we're back on stage in a whole new wrapping.

this goes on for some time, and after a while,

they all figure out we need them to smile.

But when we think it's all over and done,

they anounce that I'm number one!

They reach for my head, now a crown rests on top

the answer to my riddle is from the culture of pop.

Note: the order of events in real life is not the same as in the poem, but I put it in that order for a reason.

And yes I'm still wearing the crown! :P

my many different ideas.

dance recital I thought first, but then I thought,

Beauty pageant and you were crowned miss something.

Your first guess was the theme of my rhyme,

but it doesn't explain the last few lines.

I was at a recital, by the way,

but that wasn't the most exciting part of my day.

Ditching the rhyming, your guess is leaning twards what I did today, not the pop culture answer.

Your on the right track! Two thumbs up.:thumbsup:

Now I'm wearing the crown around my neak!

I mean like a TV show, song, movie, actor/actress, singer, ect. Things that are popular and everyone should know.

When this was happening, it reminded me of the pop culture answer(in fact, that might have been what inspired my teacher to do this).

I can't think right now, but i am getting as excited as you sound. I wish you could just tell me!

It's not as easy as that, however I will give you hints.

Heres one:

I actually recived the crown before I danced, but I put it in that order to help you with the answer.

'Hey, give me my crown back!'

Little sisters! Ugg!

I got my crown back.

cinderella??

Nope. funny one though. Actually, some of the younger girls (both in experience and age) said I looked like a princess, although it might have been the blue, pink and purple dress.

Another hint:

3 girls got crowns, but mine was the biggest(although they are younger in age, we had been dancing for the same amount of time). :D

ooo so tough, so you got the crown before dancing? does the dancing have anything to do with the crown? how long have you been dancing? was it ballet?

I dance too. :)

Yes,YES,that's part of the riddle, and I dance ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical.

In fact, I'm wearing the moscow ballet t-shirt right now.

going to bed. checking responses when I get up.

These are the pop culture references I can think of...

But I think this one fits better...

Dancing with the Stars.

Fits better because, your day was so wonderful because you got to meet somebody famous!

`So you think you can dance

Very good guesses, but no. The crown is really important to me and the riddle.

Another hint:

I was having the time of my life!

cinderella??

The closest guess was the cinderella post,

It's the one that I like the most.

Like cinderella I often feel,

I can tell you, the hard work is real.

I've worked for months, I've worked every day,

I've worked long hours without pay.

But it was all worth the dance of my dreams,

I guess that it was allways what it seems.

But at the end of the day, we've both earned our crowns,

and can't wait till next year comes around.

Who rules cinderella(after the ball)

And who usually rules one and rules all?

I forgot to put some thing in the riddle

I had the most exciting day! rather than telling you what happened, I came up with this riddle. I'll give credit to the person who figures out the pop culture answer the riddle is asking for, and to the person who can figure out what made my day so exiting.

even though this was all just for fun.

Hair and dress are all perfectly planed,

from the very begining till we bow hand in hand.

I look around familiar friends,

and hope that this day never ends.

The youngest girl is such a cuttie,

I just love how she looks up to me.

In age I have her by about 10,

but in experience it's half that, my friend.

We suck in our gut and put on a smile,

hoping the audience loves us all the while.

We do our thing, there is a long pause,

then suddenly everyone breaks into applause!

They think that it's over, but we rush off the stage,

because we have to do a quick change.

You became queen of something and then there were runners up. Not thinking Pop culture right now.

Sort of. I got the bigger crown because my head was bigger, not because I did better. In fact, the girl that did better than me didn't get a crown this year(she got it last year). But keep thinking along those lines.

Another hint:

It wasn't friday night, but the lights were low.

It only happens when someone reaches a specific milestone. For example the next best expirenced girls started two years after me, so won't be getting crowns next year. By the way the youngest girl in the part I added barley started, so I'm not counting her as having any experience(so therefore half of ten is my experience).

are you thinking, "love", or a person, like her prince?

I love your riddle, btw.

Maybe possibly some sort of
Ballet. Like the swan princess or something, or the nutcracker?

We've already established that I was dancing. how does the crown fit in? remember, I got the crown before dancing, but I put it in that order for a reason.

Even as I type this,

still, could it be you danced in Swan Lake's song?

Or like a

Yes!!! now take it one step further and put two and two together(remember, pop culture).

Hint:

Their was no tamberine, but I could still feel the beat.
